I was sent this link by a friend today and was intrigued.

http://www.examiner.com/article/wounded-warrior-project-stirs-debate-controversy-with-anti-gun-stance

“While we appreciate the interest in having a WWP representative on your show on Veterans Day we are not able to participate in interviews or activities with media/organizations that are related to firearms,”

I understand that at the end of the day this foundation is helping and supporting our combat veterans and that's ultimately more important than their stance on guns. However if they are receiving donations from gun and gun related companies I wonder how they will react when learning of this. Could it be that they dont necessarily care about their stance because, as I mentioned earlier its about the Vets not the guns? Is this a new stance from WWP? Is this a fake article? Is the moon really made of cheese?

Interested to see what other think.

In before jim's repost-of-a-repost comment!

I think you need to look at a wide variety of material before you pass judgment. WWP definitely helps a LOT of vets. After e-mailing them last year about this issue and the high compensation their CEO takes, my conclusion is that this particular complaint is a mixture of some WWP flunkies making a bad call or succumbing to political correctness, WWP not clarifying their position well enough, and some people deliberately misconstruing WWP's stance. They are obviously not anti-firearm as WWP defenders will note they have had and continue to have activities for vets that are associated with firearms but there ARE organizations or businesses that might be counterproductive for them to associate with. As an example, would anyone here blamed them or accused them of being anti-2A if they had refused to associate with Rich Wyatt?

Having said all that, I'm still somewhat concerned by the percentage they spend on advertising, fundraising, paying their CEO, etc. I shifted the money that was going to go to WWP over to The Home Front Cares, The Leonidas Project, and others.

Apologies, my message board etiquette is a bit rusty. [dig]

Im in not passing judgement just curious considering the vets and generous donators on this board.
