my son has a few buddies that he goes out to play airsoft with, they have graduated to some pretty serious airsoft rifles, they started out with the walmart toys, but they have a few now that are deadly accurate at 250ft and inside 100 ft they hurt like hell, we played father and son teams a few weekends ago, i took one in the lip, damn that hurt

that being said i dont see a reason for the police to be involved,

Air soft guns can fire pellets with enough force to raise a seriously painful welt or take out an eye if you're not wearing protection.

I was picking up my kids from school on Thursday, and there was a child with a fake sword and knife hanging out on the stairs out front, with 100+ kids and maybe 30 adults. No one cared. In Boulder, they would have called SWAT and cuffed the five year old.
