Generous estimate of $2k/rifle (assuming ammo, spare parts, transport included) gives $40mil but that is just a guess.

Wow and to think we can just run down to the hardware store and buy a WASR ak for the low haggle free price of $750 with no mags.

'Murica. Fvck yeah, the best team in the world, fvck yeah.

In some parts of the world an AK goes for less than $50. It likely depends on what else was found in the hold and how hard it would be to obtain.

I'm guessing cost would depend on how much the Russian gov is subsidizing them for mid east wars. Though if I was a port guard they may have only found 19,999 AK's......

On an unrelated note, I placed an order for a large amount of AK's recently and they haven't showed up yet.

I wonder where they could be?

With all the tech nerds out there that manage to come up with an "all new" smart phone every 30 days, is there really no way of making slightly better translation software?!

I think $2k per rifle is a super high estimate. Probably closer to $100 per.

Agreed it is high. Was assuming it included ammo, mags, repair parts, delivery, taxes, bribes. Was guessing at an upper cap on the money someone lost.

They actually can do sell for that high in some nations' black market, where guns are banned for a long time.

What ocean do you need to fish in to catch that many AKs?

I would consider taking some of you guys with me but some of you are down right unlucky with guns and boats.

Our taxes paid for those AKs. Maybe obama can do a "buy back" to get them back and try to get them to their rightful owners again.
