Knowing Marines makes me feel ten feet tall and covered with hair.

I cannot imagine the US without our Armed Forces, and our Marines are the cream of the crop. Happy birthday, devildawgs!

The United States Marine Corps provided me with some of the most educational experiences I could have asked for. I picked the Marines because I figured they had the best chance of seeing action in the pre-9/11 world. I was a 18 year old Lcpl when the towers came down. In my five years, I witnessed some of the best and worst examples of leadership I've ever seen. I made friends that will be important to me until the day I die. Lessons I learned in the Marine Corp have helped me get where I am today.

To us and those like us. The damn few.

Happy Birthday, Marines. My favorite USMC joke:

Back in 1775, in Tun’s Tavern, recruiting started for the new Marine Corps. The very first Marine enlistee came in, signed the papers and took an oath. He was then told to go outside and wait for the other enlistee’s to go through the process. They would assemble later on the front yard.

After a few minutes the second enlistee came out and had a seat on the steps, beside the first. The first man looked at the second and began, "Son, let me tell you about the Old Corps."

I took this video last year on MCBH Kaneohe when Marines sang the Marine Corps Hymn for Pearl Harbor Survivors. Was an incredible experience I will never forget.
