Anyone done the eforms?
There are reports of 3 month wait times - http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_6_17/410897_My_efiled_form_1_was_approved_in_3_months.h tml

From what I understand I was a trial run on the first ones to make sure the system was working correctly. Not to be expected in the future I hear.
I did an eform for a SBR last week.. it went pending 3 days later..
Keep us updated... but this is scary (i don't know how creditable they are, it was just posted on that thread)

Just looked at that arf.com thread and people are getting their stamps in 3 months still. I logged into the atfonline.gov site and registered. Right there is the forms you need to fill out and how to attach your paperwork. Sure seems like the atf is accepting the forms online and spitting them out faster then ever. going to give this a shot as I just purchased a supressor today and would rather not wait 9+ months.

Form 4's have to be filed by the FFL.

Thanks Lurch.. I just spent an hour looking at all kinds of info and found that out. Now to go see Machine gun tours tomorrow and get them to sign up with the Eform system.
Seems to me that they would really want to be part of the eforms. Cutting the wait times to a fraction of what they are by mail can only help sell more NFA items.
Will report back.

Just had a F4 eformed for me today on a suppressor. Will see what it turns out to be.

Could you guys list a few class 3 FFLs that are doing eforms in the Denver metro area? I want another suppressor and this seems to be the way to go.

Not Denver area, but Chris at Silent Precision is efiling. I know what I wanted, so I did it all via email/snail mail with him and I'll make the hour and a half drive once they're approved.
I'm a little disturbed that the stamp is emailed and not physical, as I thought that was the whole point. Here is your physical item in exchange for your $200 tax.
Keep in mind that the trust forms must be under 3MB when you submit them. I believe you can submit multiple forms though if you can't get it under 3MB. I have no idea how to resize them.
I have a class 3 FFL and just had a couple of customers ask me about getting the form 4's done via E-file. I am waiting for the ATF to approve us to do them electronically. I'll let you guys know how it goes. I should be set up this week. Just waiting for the second email from the ATF (second stage of approval).
Which sucks... To work it down that far. I think it took like 8 times to shrink mine to below 3mb
Sent by a free-range electronic weasel, with no sense of personal space.
If you can't fix the size while scanning, you can "shrink" a pdf file size by removing older version compatibility using Adobe Acrobat (full). There may be freeware utilities that can do this as well.
Best to submit everything as pdf.
I just submitted a Form1 a few minutes ago, we'll see how long it takes...
Even though it sucks to have to pay for the right, it is awesome to be able to get rewards points on my Amex.

There's a discussion over on arfcom with links to NFA(something) web site. Seems the ATF is in violation of their own laws, by not issuing a hard copy of your tax Stamp / Form. Either way the who approval wait time could be streamlined to a 30 day turn around, if not instant if the .gov pulled their head out of their ass.

Never mind!
I submitted two form 4's for customers this morning. The website seems to be pretty glitchy, but when it works, it was quite fast to submit. I'll definitely use it again for any customer who would like to try it.
I got an e-mail from them yesterday that the site was going down mid-day for maintenance due to problems. They said "rebuild" so who knows WTF they're up to.
The day before it went down for "weekly maintenance" while I was in the middle of the process and hadn't yet saved the form. [facepalm]
The first time you hit submit and it sits and spins for what seems like minutes, one wonders if it's going to blow up, but it went through fine.

I am an FFL SOT doing eforms, but when I went to sign up, the first screen gives you a warning that the systems is "unreliable" with Internet Explorer 9 and later. It recommends using IE 8, which was released in 2009. Luckily, I had an old laptop that still had IE 8 on it. Other PC's, you merely uninstall the later Internet Explorer versions and if you are lucky, you peel back to IE 8........... You cant even download IE 8 from Microsoft.
I think he guys that did the ATF eforms web site are the same ones that did www.healthcare.gov (http://www.healthcare.gov)!!! FWIW
Folks have also said it only works with IE. I got through just fine with FF 25.0.1, which is surprising in and of itself.

Works fine with Chrome and Safari, as well - now if they'd get around to approving my FFL submission application so I can actually file something.
From the ATF newsletter sent today:
NFA Branch Months
-----------------------
ATF Form 1 9 mos
eForm 1 6 mos
ATF Form 4 9 mos
eForm 4 6 mos
The average processing times depicted below are representative of applications approved within the last 90 days and are subject to change.

Yes, the website is quite a cluster. However, they are making quite a huge push as it does seem to be significantly faster, though unreliably so. I think they are still taking it offline mid-day for maintenance every day. But some people are getting forms back extremely fast, and not just from during the early days of the rollout. Some forms appear to be still taking a while, who knows why. ATF just emailed out a 13 page doc tonight on eForms to FFLs to try to help us all figure out how to use the darn thing. Don't get your hopes up (especially as more people start to use it) but it does appear this is the way to go for now if your FFL will support it - might shave a few weeks or a few months off your processing time and get you your can back before the June deadline for ATF 41p.
Sounds like we have several more SOTs on the board than I thought. Look - this is not an attempt to generate sales, as like many guys, I do this for fun part-time, but if you want a can, I would suggest you reach out to one of us and get going fast. June will be here soon, and so will the new regs, whatever they end up being finalized as. I'm a small home-based FFL and I've had more interest in suppressors than ever before for that reason alone.

Was informed today (14:20) the Efile site goes down DAILY for upgrade / retrieving submitted Eforms.
SO ...........Lunch time is down time, which "varies" depending (SURPRISE) on what ever.
Sometimes i feel like i'm talking to our daughter when she was a teenanger.
As mentioned before 3MB MAX per document submitted. I eeked mine out to 2.9mb's.

To me it seems morning or evening has been working best. I'm not sure if the time varies day by day as to when it goes down

Just did my first three eforms filings......thanks to the comments above on attached file sizing, and other gothcha's....... Used google Chrome as the browser since the web site doesnt seem to suppot IE 9, 10, or 11.......
Its not the greatest web site process. but far from the worst.......will post when we go pending and when we get approval. Manual Form 4 came in Jan 11 that was submitted March 9th 2013 ......FWIW
Just filed eform on my Mac. Tried on Safari but got the pinwheel of death whenever I attempted to get to the application page. Ended up using FireFox with no problems.

Your pending date is the day you file them with e-file. Expect approval in about 100 days, it appears that they are slowing down a bit as more and more people efile and more and more are getting forms in before the no cleo signature on trusts may go away.
