Congratulations dad. Please pass on to momma our joy for you guys. While I believe all children are a wonderful gift from God, daughters are a special blessing.

Your boys are old enough to help lend a hand where needed. It's easy to focus on tending to a new child and neglect the attention the existing children need. Involving the boys will help ease the adjustment for them too. Letting them know they have a new job of protecting their little sister will also give them a special sense of purpose and importance.

Yes we have prepped them of the responsibilities of being a bit brother to a little sister. We have made it a point to include them to help them with the adjustment. This morning they were the first ones to hold her after my wife and myself. They even got to help the nurse with cleaning up the baby with wash clothes, listening to her heartbeat with a stethoscope and all kinds of cool things. Its been a good but tiring day for all of us.36619
