View Full Version : Act of random kindness
Just had a pleasant surprise tonight.
Wife and I were getting the kids off to bed when we heard the doorbell ring-this was at 10pm.
We go downstairs and nobody was at the door, but they did leave some groceries with an unsigned note saying Happy Thanksgiving.
I have no clue as to who would have left it.
I must have made an impression on someone for them to do that and I would just like to say Thanks.
I always try to help out when I can and its nice when someone helps you out.
Good Karma out often gets good Karma back :)
Have a great Thanksgiving for there's a lot o be thankful for....

Thats awesome!
Nice!
I was grabbing my usual pre-flight bottle of water from the newsstand at DIA last week, and while I missed the first part of the interaction, a nice older (60's) lady was paying for some items for a 20 something girl that was visibly upset. I assumed her debit card wasn't accepted or something and she had no cash and had possibly been delayed at the airport for some time. After many thanks and you're welcome's back and forth, the lady also gave her some cash "just in case."
Sure is nice to see random acts of kindness in the wild.

There is still a faint embers glow of decency and hope in the pile of ashes of what we call our nation....

The American people as a group are the most generous and personally helpful people I've ever met. Most around the world are conditioned that gov will take care of those who need it and do not extend a hand to those in a pinch. I have been around the world many times and thats my experience.
Why is my first thought to wonder how the food is poisoned or otherwise tampered with.

And then there's the fake Starbucks "pay it forward" crap, which just serves to randomize what you owe as long as the chain continues. Manufactured charity is worse than no charity.
I bout this old lady's glue so she didn't have to wait in line a few months back. It's nice the reaction you get when you do things like that! I like to think there are still good people out there.
Well all the goodies were good to go,had the food tested(mother in law started chowing down-she survived...[ROFL1]) so its going to make for a nice meal.
Just wish I could personaly thank whoever left it,but that's how it goes .Anominity of doing something good for someone else and knowing it helped is good soup for the soul :)
If theres anybody down in the Springs that wants to have a good dinner Thanksgiving give me a shout and come on over :)
