I really like the Short grip. Should match my FORTIS Rev rail beautifully.

[B]Rainier Arms gets them first! (https://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop/manufacturer&manufacturer=134&pagenumber=4)

(Yeah I know I originally misspelled "Manufacturing" I corrected, but mods have to fix the title.)

The short one is pretty cool. Might fit my style rather well.

I have one on the way to replace the AFG I sold. I will let you "touch it" and "feel" how fits in your hand if want Ray, to see if you want one that is. [Coffee]

I know it looks awkward until you think about where your fingers go with thumb over bore. I liked the AFG and I like the XTM hand-stop but neither ever felt right with the pinky finger. This looks like it will be comfortable as hell.

Another couple shots;

The full vertical I am not too impressed with, but the short hand stop reminds me more of a tweaked, smaller, more defined AFG.

Yeah that one isn't bad. I wonder what weight is compared to a Magpul hand stop.

I'm not a huge fan of Fortis with their weird choice of key mod and picatinny rails on the REV.

I like the REV rail, others that are straight Keymod all look the same. I actually dont even use the keymod part, tried the keymod covers but didn't make a difference really.

According to Rainier's website the Short "Shift" grip is;

One Piece Billet Design
Slotted Screws Attachment
Aircraft Grade 6061-T6 Aluminum
Military Specification Type III Hard Coat Anodized
Light weight 2.1 oz

The MAGPUL AFG is 2.92 oz, AFG2 is 2.53 oz, and the XTM Hand stop kit has no listing for weight, but considering it is 3 1/2 XTM panels with some extra material probably lighter than the Shift.

I like to use the forward type grip to pull the rifle in tight to my shoulder. The Magpul AFG doesn't work well for me because I find the angle a bit funky and it is kind of difficult for me to get a good pull on it. I usually just run a standard vertical grip. I'd definitely like to see one of these in person as I think having that little hook part might work well for me.

Here is how I do it for now until something better comes along.

Wow, memories, that was your last years AR variant, what 3-4 AR's ago. [Coffee]

The Vltor Hand-guard is so tall and wide, I could never hold it comfortable like I wanted to.

That is a proven method though, in fact the AR I put together for the wife has a RVG on it and showing her that method. I am just not a fan of the hanging down vertical grip, tempted to do the Kwando and cut the RVG so it was stubby. Not saying Kwando has a stubby either, so no one go there.

Although I never had a prob with the AFG, it was the closet form I could find that met what I liked.

Why I am interested in how this SHIFT grip thingy feels.

Here is a good shot of how the short grip will look with a HAND on it.

Makes you feel any better so far they are garage experiments and Stubborn Mule Outdoor Supply Arms looks to only be experimenting. [Beer]

I got my "SHIFT" short grip in today.

Very cool, like much very, .............. not sure if it is worth the $60, but to be one of the first adopters gotta say very small, matches my FORTIS REV Rail, and perfectly ergonomic.

Will do a quick review in the other section later with pics.
