View Full Version : New barrel or new sights?

I've got a glock 19 that Shoots left. I've had lots of people try it and the consensus is that it shoots left about 4 inches at 10 yards.
Some tell me that I should get the glock adjustable rear sight and sight it in like a rifle. I like the idea because its a cheap fix but I'm also wondering about replacing the barrel instead. I've looked at lone wolf and a few others, what do y'all recommend.
So the question is, should I buy a new rear sight for 15 or upgrade the barrel? (And could it be shooting left due to something other than the barrel?)
Thanks in advance and if there is a better place to post this please let me know.

Not knowing who has shot it or their background, that is a very common problem people have when new to Glocks. That being said move the factory sight and see if that helps or if it continues to hit left.
You might want to put a boresighter on it and see if the boresighter shows that the sights are off.
Drifting the rear sight is a simple fix, if that is the problem.

Thanks for the input. It's taken me a while to admit it was the gun. It's on it's second set of sights already and I've had a lot experienced glock shooters do the same.
I can group on target just fine with my buddy's glock 23.
I've also tried lots of different ammo and even changed my grip since I bought the gun.
You might even contact Glock. If it's the gun, they might correct it for you.

You are pushing the pistol or anticipating recoil.
Likely not the pistol.
Google "Pistol Correction Chart" and see how it plays into the scheme.
Make sure it is not a technique issue before you start monkeying with the sights.
Shoot it from a rest or bag and see what happens.

The rear sight on my 19 is drifted quite a ways to the right to hit POA, so it may in fact be the gun.
It's not me; I can shoot tight little groups all day and I know when I throw a shot.

Yep, this ^^ I hand that chart out in class to each student.
I'd be happy to work with you for an hour or two and see if we can correct things. If it truly is the sights then we can adjust them too.
Have you fired other pistols recently? And where are those other pistols hitting?
meh...I'm late to the party. its a glock. just be glad it hasn't blown up.

Thanks all for the advise and offers. You guys are welcoming.
I don't have a 9mm boresighter so I figure Ill take the glock and some other pistols to the range and try to compare the groups with different types of triggers.
Since I bought the glock I haven't shot much else.
