I own lots of Luepolds but am thinking of getting a Burris XTR 6x24x50 Extreme tactical. I like my Mark 4 but thought of giving Burris a try. Any info helpful. Pro's & Con's would be great.

Although not tactical scopes, I own both burris and Leupold scopes, multiple of both. I'll trade you any of the Burris scopes for a Leupold any day.

At the price as you will spend on that burris most glass is the same, its all about which you like best.

I'm biggest on the knobs. Meaning do they tract well. If I zero, set the dial , then change elevation/windage settings, and then go back to the original setting, is it going to be on? I have no complaints about my Luepold Mark 4 doing what I discribed above. And the money isn't an issue with buying from Burris for I get a two scopes (some%) off retail one time deal. I also get that deal through Luepold but already burnt up my two from them. I wish I could get this deal through many other companies but only from Luepold and Burris and Burris I have yet to use.

Does any one have or have had any experience with the scope in question?

I have a Burris on my .270 and have had no complaints. The glass has a great coating, greatly reducing flair. I have yet to compare it to a luepold.

Swift makes a great scopes for the money. Optics are as good as Luepold and they are right here in CO.

Are you an employee of Swift?

The original post was asking for info on Loopy vs Burris.

I have 2 Burris scopes and I think the Burris Fullfield II is a great value but not even close to Luepold in price or quality. I have a Burris Euro Diamond that is close to Luepold in price and quality. I think you get what you pay for. Darn

I do lots of testing for swift. I'm helping them develop some new products. The stuff I've shot so far is awesome and is right up there with all the big brands.

A buddy of mine has a swift - has to zero it every time he shoots. I was really disappointed in it - so I bought Leuopold and have never looked back

Thanks all. Got the scope I needed 5 months ago. Keep up the debate though......
