We are carrying the newer lower sodium line of Wise foods, The older style Wise products that you may have seen in the past in the tan buckets are no longer being produced. They are eliminating the Tan buckets (some products are already out of stock at the manufacturer). Wise is eliminating the sale of their products on ebay, amazon, and overstock.com. They are going to a more retail outlet based system.

Taste is very personal, I like the product. I would eat the product. Let's be honest it is a freeze dried emergency food product, it is meant for camping, and emergency food rations, I have never had an MRE, or freeze dried product that was restaurant quality.

We have looked into other suppliers for food storage. I have tried the product at some trade shows. It was tasty, but I was expecting MRE quality and it is way better than that. MRE star is now 30 days late getting me information and the total FOB pricing list. The customer service is beyond poor at this point. They were very helpful until i gave them the go ahead for an order. The price point for the wise product is very good. Mountain house is nearly 60% more per meal for similar calorie and nutritional values. Their meals are packed in metal cans, any moisture intrusion could cause corrosion to the container and subsequent damage to the food. The cans are "coated". This implies to me that the manufacturer recognizes the downfall to their metal can. If that coating is damaged, physically or chemically, bye bye food product.

The advantages to the Wise products have found in doing my research have been:

cost per meal and nutritional value is the best I have found, for any family to plan ahead with food supplies, cost has to be a factor, 720 servings of Wise foods at my pricing as little as $1155.00, from my mountain house competitors the same 720 servings runs $1918.80
taste, personally I thought the stroganoff and the chili mac were way above expectation for a freeze dried product.
A true emergency ration, this is one of the few products you can eat whether you have hot water available or not. this product can be used with cold water, so in a true SHTF scenario, you will still have a food source. Cold water takes a little longer to prepare the food, am I am sure it tastes better hot, but you can eat it.
Customer service has been outstanding
Ease of storage, plastic containers, moisture and chemically resistant
9 container have the same nutritional servings as nearly 60 cans of mountain house food
containers can be used for secondary purposes once food is eaten

I'll use this post as my feedback for Rockhound and the Wise products he sells. Rockhound was easy to communicate with, has the best prices on Wise products, and was willing to drive out of his way to meet with me. Or you can choose to pay for shipping if you're not close to Bailey. Highly recommended!
