View Full Version : Lovely Weather We Are Having!
Took me 2.5 hours to get from orchard and university to Castle Rock. Crazy stuff! I wanted to go shooting this weekend but that might not happen now[Dunno]
There is no such thing a bad weather, only bad choices of clothing.
This is one time I suspect you could have the range to yourself.

Sure, the weather is bad NOW, but this IS Colorado. According to the weatherman it's supposed to be 50 degrees around Colo Springs on Saturday.
I'll probably be in shorts by sunday!
I about blew away earlier shoveling! damn drifts were pretty good.

I doubt I will ever have Ben Lomond to myself! I was close late on sunday, only one other person on a berm!

I want to get a truck, but for now my Grand Prix with snow tires makes a formidable snow vehicle.

Well I didnt have to work to day... So instead I loaded up a few 308's for next time I goto the range, cleaned a few firearms, and programed a few new repeaters in to my truck radio. Pretty productive day for me I say.
Edit to add: I also shoveled the snow, boy there was a lot of it today.

it's about time we had another paralyzing blizzard..
I was beginning to believe there was something to the Global warming thing..
this hasn't been a winter- I think Spring came in December...
I had to go up to Winter Park to see significant snow on the ground- even Buena Vista was lacking...
Went in to work at 3:30, left at 8 after I decided to close us down...about 5 minutes ago I got a call from the District Manager breathing down my neck and about ready to bash my head in because I closed, we had 5 people on the clock, making new food every 10 minutes and no customers coming in...[Rant1]

I just love the news here in Denver. Seems like a lot of panic and "big" news all about weather. Schools closed too?! IT'S COLORADO!!! And CO is in the rockies. Wow snow! Up in WY snow is just the norm. Big whoop!

It's flipping Colorado and it's still March, what's the problem?
Day off from work, chance to get caught up on news and chores. My only problem is that it's too flipping cold to go out in the garage to sort out my ammo :/
I swear, Colorado Springs is getting to be more and more like DC. Not just the attitudes of some of the new liberals in the area and the DC-type restaurants (Red Hot and Blue, Champps, etc.) but the way people freak out over a little precipitation or temperatures below 30 ...

I'm loving it, except....about 5 minutes ago my DirecTV reciever just came up with "Searching for satellite.." which means two things (1) I've gotta get dressed and go clean the snow out of the dish, and (2) I've got a buy a heating unit for my dish so I never have to go outside to clean the snow out of it again.
I figure that while I'm out there I might as well try to shovel the drifts off of my sidewalks too.
I was just excited to get out there and play in the snow with my truck!
Working in atlanta, I am proud of how well people out here handle the snow. I know it used to be better and not a big of a deal, but overall colorado does pretty damn good. Its just the people who think their mustang will make it up I-70....it may be nice here but that doesn't mean at 9000 ft it isn't snowing with icy roads. some people just don't think ahead[Bang]

Thought you seemed a little left coast-ish. Just kidding.
Best thing about the weather is the desert I call my yard might green up for a day or two because of the snow. Then back to desert. I don't waste water on lawn care. Let it die!

And just like that over half of the snow has already melted here in the Springs. They're expecting weather in the 40's tomorrow down here and I expect that most of the rest of the snow will be gone by the end of the day.
It was fun while it lasted. At least it got my wife out of work for 2 days.

Even the engineers down at the McDonalds got have the day off, today. Not me though. A little snow and Denver about closes.
LOL they closed things down because of roads and sheer volume of people! This population at doubled in 20 years and most of them came from a state that had no snow except in what they called "mountains". Kidding aside it is all about volume of people going home, that is why everybody shut down early. I never worry about myself driving in snow it is the other idiots around me that scare the crap out of me!
