New Blades

My son and i decided to try our hand at the art of bladecraft.
Were going for the truly indestructible field blade that will always bring you back.
Went with 5160 due to it's flexibility, and higher chromium content.
Hammer forged to my favorite caliber thickness .357
Hardened as hard as it can be hardened which should come out at 62-63.
Screwed up the spacing on the 1/4" pins. I need to pin closer to the guard.
Black and Red G10.
It's our first effort so, weve some bugs to sill work out.

That is a thick blade. Does it take a long time to sharpen?

Yeah, Father son time. Even if he's 25, it's a great thing. Unfortunately i dont get to see my oldest much.
Not too bad sharpening time. Forge and hammer in the basic angles, grind and polish finish. Once hardened,
it holds an edge real good and sharpens as fast as a 1/4" D2 blade.

Yea.
A lifetime ago i made knives. Recently ive found an area that i can use for a shop, something
i havent had for years. So yes maybe. I've got maybe 6 or 7 designs i'd like to iron out and
produce. They range in size from a 4" bladed EDC and Bushcraft, up to a 14" bladed scimitar
fighter. With a bunch of different Tactical Field knives in the middle.

While I agree that the spacing on the pins should be wider, at least it doesn't look sloppy.

Those are great looking knifes, I wish my dad was still around to do stuff like that, yeah I am kinda jelly.

Makes me want to talk you guys into a knife making party.
