View Full Version : Zero stops for SWFA Super Sniper scopes
Another member here (Skullybones) and I designed a zero stop system for the SS fixed power scopes and, we think, the 3-15 FFP. He prototyped them up yesterday and we found they work beautifully. The system consists of 5 shims that are stacked as needed under the turret.
We did a little install video that shows how simply it works.
We're debating how to market these, so there are no details yet on how they will be sold.

The parts. The shims are in thicknesses of 3 revolutions, 2, 1, 1/2 and two of 1/4 revolution. The three rev shim may not be necessary.

Cap off, shims in place.

Cap going back on over the shims.

When you guys get them ready, I'll take a set!
Rifle isn't quite ready yet anyway but will be soon.

Very basic idea, well done! Have you considered approaching SWFA with them? If you were able to get tons made, perhaps they could offer them on their website as an add on to their scopes, like the butler creek caps options. Then again, they might just steal the idea so might be best to sell them on your own.
If you need to check them on a 3-15 FFP I just picked one up.
I have a 3-9 FFP as well.

We had a test set arrive to a customer yesterday. The 3-15 is a go, and the customer was very pleased with the function of the unit.
Does anyone own an MOA version of these scopes? We are needing to take a few measurements, and will try to make it worth your time.
Same question with regards to the 5-20 model and 1-4 or 1-6 models.
SWFA has been given a set to evaluate, so hopefully that is an option in the near future. I won't speak for Tim, but I believe he is going to handle a few sales to meet the current need.
Thank you

Jared is correct. The interest over on the Sniper's Hide has been so great we decided to sell a few sets immediately for those who are anxious.

You most certainly can. Let's take this to PM's and figure out how to get together.

Jared/Tim,
I'm in Cripple Creek and could drop off a 5-20 in Divide or WP if you need one in hand.

Congrats on putting these together. SWFA's post on OpticsTalk stated they would be selling them as well.
Still hunting for a SWFA SS 1-6x or did their testing confirm that it works with those as well?

I did make a set for that model. I will be out of town over Christmas, but will post when I produce another set. To answer your question the 1-6 is different. How many revolutions up is your current zero?
I just finished installing a set on my SWFA x16 fixed power.
Easy project at the range and i'm a happy shooter.
