ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - A 13-year-old was handcuffed and hauled off to a juvenile detention for burping in class, according to a civil rights lawsuit filed against an Albuquerque public school principal, a teacher and a city police officer. The suit was filed Wednesday, the same day the district was also sued by the family of a 7-year-old autistic boy who was handcuffed to a chair. (http://www.abqjournal.com/main/2011/12/01/news/parents-of-autistic-boy-file-suit.html)

The Albuquerque Journal (http://bit.ly/rV0JNV) reports the unnamed seventh grader was arrested last May 11 at Cleveland Middle School after he "burped audibly" in his P.E. class. "Criminalizing of the burping of a thirteen-year-old boy serves no governmental purpose," the lawsuit said. "Burping is not a serious disruption, a threat of danger was never an issue."

The lawsuit alleges the boy was transported to the juvenile center without his parents being notified. It also says he was denied his due process rights because he was suspended for the rest of that school year without "providing him an explanation of the evidence the school claimed to have against him." He was not allowed to call witnesses or defend himself against the burping allegation.

The boy was never charged. He scored a - 2 on a scale of 1 to 10 according to a risk assessment given by the jail staff, 10 being extremely dangerous.

It also details a separate incident this school year when administrators became suspicious because the boy had $200 in his pocket. He claimed it was because he was going to go shopping after school, but administrators accused him of selling pot to another student. The boy asked to call his mother; instead, they forced the student to strip down to his underwear while five adults watched.

He was not charged with any crime related to that incident either.

A spokeswoman for Albuquerque Public Schools said she had not seen the lawsuit and could not comment.

Haven't heard of this one yet. APS has some major issues, besides this. Statewide, the schools are imploding, but I think thats pretty much nationwide. Actually the entire city of Albuquerque has some major issues. Personally, I don't consider anything within a 30 mile radius of the I25/I40 interchange to be a part of my state. And I try to stay away from there as much as possible. This is why I live out on the frontier.

The kid is probably just normal. Progressives and libtards hate normal people.

More and more I believe that the greatest blessing my wife and I have received from God is our inability to have children.

In the past, I've criticized people who sue school districts.

But now that schools have decided that they should call police for every discipline issue, screw 'em. Sue the lot of them.

I guess in the same way we have "Florida Man (http://www.reddit.com/r/FloridaMan)" we should have "New Mexico Officer"

CANON CITY, Colo. - A six year old boy is suspended from school in Canon City for kissing a classmate on the cheek
His mother says it's a crush and the two children like each other. But the school is calling it something else; sexual harassment.

First grader, Hunter Yelton, told us he loves science and phys-ed. Also...that he has a crush on a girl at school, who likes him back.
It may sound innocent enough...but at six years old Hunter now has 'sexual harassment' on his school record.

"It was during class yeah. We were doing reading group and I leaned over and kissed her on the hand. That's what happened," said Hunter Yelton.
Six year old Hunter was at home on Monday instead of at school.

"They sent me to the office, fair and square. I did something wrong and I feel sorry," he said.

"She was fine with it, they are ‘boyfriend and girlfriend’. The other children saw it and went to the music teacher. That was the day I had the meeting with the principal, where she first said 'sexual harassment'. This is taking it to an extreme that doesn't need to be met with a six year old. Now my son is asking questions… what is sex mommy? That should not ever be said, sex. Not in a sentence with a six year old," said Hunters’ mom, Jennifer Saunders.

Both hunter and his mom, Jennifer, admit he's had some trouble at school in the past. Hunter has been suspended for rough-housing, and for kissing the same girl on the cheek.
“We've been working with him with the classroom disruption. He was grounded for awhile. Big restrictions," said Saunders.

Report Bonnie Silkman asks Hunter, “Are you trying to be good at school? Hunter replies, “Yes…I have a lot of energy. I mean six year olds. They have a lot of energy."

The superintendent at School District RE-1, says any school record remains within the district. And Hunters’ actions fit the school policy description of 'sexual harassment'

"How can you do this? How can you say this about my child? Remove sexual harassment, remove it from his record. I'm going to stand up and fight for him because that's not the case, that's not what happened at all,” said Saunders.”

The school district also says Hunters' parents may believe that kissing the girl at school is overall acceptable- but that's where the school disagrees.

They're hoping the suspension changes hunter's behavior.

Hunter is supposed to return to school in Canon City on Tuesday.

And the continued pussification of the children continues. What a scam, once agin schools are over stepping their boundaries. It's not about school anymore, it's about indoctrination. Don't forget these kids our future.

Anybody else hear the toilet bowl flushing?

If he kissed another little boy it would have been perfectly acceptable and we never would have heard about it.

Way to go Hunter! [Beer]

I'm sure it would've been ok if Hunter kissed a boy in his class...

This is America's version of the Hitler Youth programs.
