So is that why fresh cut trees cost so much? You aren't paying for the man hours to cut the tree, you're paying for the jet fuel to fuel the helicopter! [LOL]
Time is fuel. Fuel is money.

I would guess that if that is real the pilot was a viet nam vet. I knew a couple of guys that flew like that dusting crops and they flew in Nam.
What I want to see is the guy(s) on the ground in a mad dash to keep up with the hitching on guy rope.
I'm more impressed with the ground crew that can latch the load onto that chopper in just a few seconds OVER AND OVER AND OVER again.
Clearly not his first day on the job! That is impressive.

I wonder if they speed up the film?
I had the same thought, but the lights appear to be blinking at the proper cadence.
I wonder if they speed up the film?
It's VERY hard to do that in a way that isn't obvious, and generally far above the budget of a YouTube poster.

While I found that impressive as well, I'm still far more impressed with how the pilot is swinging that load on a tether and placing the logs precisely in the truck bed. That's a shitload of varying mass at the end of a long non-rigid lever arm, all the while the pilot is keeping his chopper in control. Of course they strapped the logs ahead of time so it's just a matter of connecting the cable as it comes by -- not easy but nothing like what that pilot is doing.
Good pilot and ground crew under some time pressure. The trees wouldn't be much of a problem as long as there wasn't any gusty winds. Sling loading fuel bladders or just about anything liquid was always a pain.
I am more impressed that he is that trusting of a Jetranger. Those things ran out of tail rotor real quickly.

I'd have a harder time hitting the bed of the truck with a tree loading it by hand. That guy was shit hot.

Oh I did, had a Raptor 50 and a Raptor 90. A "hobby" is supposed to be enjoyable and relaxing.
You are not supposed to get so irritated and frustrated you pick up $2K worth of heli by the tailboom and raise it over your head and damn near slam it into the bumper of the truck.
I sold it the next week.
If I ever get into RC again it will be a slow, leisurely trainer and I will lazily fly about with an occasional loop or roll.

Been flying RC Planes since I was young, wife wanted to try heli's. I got her a trex 450 with a new TX and she never flew it. I wrecked it a few times though [Coffee]
How are the trees released so fast?
How are the trees released so fast?
The hook is released by a switch on the cyclic.

To heck with hitting the truck with the trees, look at how he puts the hook into the hands of the ground crew.
