Sorry to hear that. On the other hand, you say "till end of January" so it sounds like you know that you WILL be getting income again and when it will start. That's something to be thankful for in today's environment.

It sounds like a seasonal layoff, file for unemployment. it takes 5 week. By the time the Ump is approved, you will have found another job.

Sorry to hear that guys. I have been unemployed since August as well. At least I had the entire summer to hunt. Keep the heads up and stay strong.

Sorry to learn of these circumstances for all three of you. :(
Always happens near Christmas it seems. Sorry to hear the news guys. If any if you three can run a Haas VMC and/or Lathe, PM me. The company I work for may be looking for qualified help. They both make Pro level quality automotive race engine parts from billets. No guarantees, but I'll try. Good luck!

Sad news for you guys that got laid off, I'm sorry to hear about that.
I've heard the reason they do it a few weeks before x-mas........is it's supposed to be before you rack up tall holiday bills.

I'm looking into out of state opportunities right now....Colorado seems to be kinda dry for quality employment.
Planning a trip to TX here soon..
Hang in there gentlemen. Here's hoping you find something new quickly.

I was in the office wrapping up some paperwork after a field job about 3 weeks ago. One of my trainees showed up. I'd just told the boss that the trainee was ready to take on more responsibility.
I invited the trainee back to watch me and see how to complete a job, receptionist said "no, he must stay here".
They laid him and about a dozen others off that day. They'd hired 50+ this summer.
Best wishes to all in that situation, it seems to be going around.
That sucks as the timing couldn't be better. It happened to me once and that was enough, never again.
Good luck to you all in finding what you want.

I'm really sorry to read that for you guys.
Things will all work out for the better, you'll see!
Good luck to you all.
Sorry to hear guys, good luck to you all! I was laid off last Nov., but it was a merger thing, not a seasonal layoff. I've been u/e for a year now, but just had a second positive interview this morning for a certain job. This interview was with the regional director, went well, got a good feeling about it.

That sucks, man. Plan accordingly, be frugal and make the best of your time off.
Reminds me of all those wonderful years in the Operating Engineers, been there done that many times over. I miss running the machines but not the rigamarole.
