View Full Version : Links for information about active shooter resistance = suicide
A while back I remember reading a link here from a law enforcement person or a trainer or someone along those lines that talked about how mass shooters tend to kill themselves the instant they are confronted with another person with a gun. Any links or information on that?

What are we? Your research department? (http://lmgtfy.com/?q=active+shooter+suicide#)
Actually I did not think of those specific terms to use in a search. Thank you so much for the link.

you didn't think to search "active shooter suicide" when those three words were in your thread title?

Whoa there fellas. Play nicely together or this sandbox gets closed.
Agreed no reason to be a dick to the guy.....just because he doesn't know how to search and starts useless new threads! [Coffee]
When did nynco get that thread title?
[LOL]
Honestly, I still have not found a good article even using those search terms. There was one a while back that was posted that was in reference to having teachers armed and how any form of resistance tended to trigger the mass shooter into suicide. I started the thread because many people around here save good articles like that. The net is a big place and some of the posters on here have a good deal of knowledge on where to find the articles that are worth the read.
Thanks

I may be the one to have mentioned, I don't remember. I keep a running list (sadly) of mass shootings, active shooters, school shooters, etc. I try to locate the information about the mental state, medications they were on or prescribed, response (both public and l.e.), and how they were stopped (i.e. shot themselves, shot by l.e., confronted or shot by a CCW holder, or they gave up). It's a work in progress for sure since I am still in the process of finding out about other shootings I had never heard of or information wasn't well known.
Thanks KevDen, I would be interested to read that information if you ever compile it.

To second what nynco stated, I too would also be interested in the stats that you pull, and if you need help with nerd analysis (IE: statistics) let me know.

I think I poopied in the sandbox. [sorry]
I would be interested in scholarly research on these shooters.
I think an additional bit of information would be enlightening: What psychotropic drug(s) we the shooters on (or recently discontinued) at the time of the shooting?
