View Full Version : Sell a gun at Gander Mtn.????
So, I decided to see what Gander Mtn would offer me for one of my Walther P99's.
Never tried to sell a gun at any store/I had ZERO clue what to expect....
It truely has 5 rds through it/excellent shape...
Guy offered me $270.00 for it!!! Said they only pay 60% of a guns value...
Decent place to buy a gun, just not sell one!!!

You were expecting a $500 offer
WTB section. Someone was looking to buy one last month?
When it comes to GM I simply don't even try to find a deal in that place anymore, maybe when the announce their going out of business sale I will try [Coffee]
Seems like any gun store will only offer about 40%-50% or less depending on condition. Better to do a private sale IMO, also I think there guns are overpriced??

They've got to pay for overhead, salaries, etc. You just have to pay for gas. Sell it privately.

50-60% is about the going rate at a gun shop.
You should forget Gander Mountain for either side of a sale...

I dumped a piece of junk late model Bushmaster for more than I paid for it at GM.
No complaints there.
But when they wanted $1700.00 for a used M1A National Match with a cracked stock and missing sights I had to walk away.
Decent place to buy a gun
I'm going to have to disagree with you on this.

ZINGGGGGGGGGGGGG
Like Mazin mentioned earlier... maybe I'll swing by that place when they have their big "going out of business" sale.
Hopefully soon.

Sure wouldn't mind seeing a Sportsman's Warehouse move in when they do, but I doubt they would. Guess they didn't fare well with their Aurora store a few years back. I can hope.
Crazy to me when I go in to look around is how many people buy guns there! I would not buy a gun from there, I only use my rewards points to buy things. Wish I would have gotten a SW card instead and they didn't close the Aurora store!
Never ever ever ever farking EVER go to gander mountain. Terrible business.

x's 5,000,000,000
NEVER, EVER AGAIN.
If only we could get the Fuds to open their eyes and see what a horrible store it was. [facepalm]

Used Glock's were beat to shit and steep in price, almost the same price for a new one. No thanks, SW has/had better prices.
They employ THE dumbest people too.
I gotta go with Jim on this one. Why not try and sell it private party.
I have bought a pistol there. Glock 34 that was used but looked new and the tag said $575, overpriced from a glance unless you read the fine print stating that it came with a Advantage Arms 22 conversion.

I haven't been to Gander Mountain since they were trying to sell Silver Bear 9mm Makarov ammo for 20ish a box (want to say 22 a box but can't remember for sure). I said something about 400% markup and the sales guy said the managers set the prices, not the store chain.......but still, the chain hires the managers right?
I agree with all posts above, and found the thread of the guy looking to buy one-
Thanks fellas, Merry Christmas!!
