I just received a Magpul CTR stock for Xmas from Bravo Company. But, it didn't come in a Magpul box, it came wrapped in bubble wrap in a ziplock bag. And, the instructions were photocopied. No Magpul stickers either. Bravo Company was $15 or so cheaper than any other vendor, should I be worried about it not being genuine Magpul? There's no note on the page about it not coming in a box or being OEM packed either. I thought Bravo Company was pretty reputable, are they not?

It should still have the right MP logo on the buttplate. MagPul supplies OEM to several companies, and those parts are not in retail packaging. They probably were just selling some OEM parts as Retail, which I don't think they are supposed to do.

I get lots of parts from BCM packaged this way. My guess is they get massive quantities from the manufacturer packaged this way instead of in individual boxes. They probably save money buying that way so they can sell it to us at reasonable prices and still make a profit. I seriously doubt BCM would sell you a knockoff product.

Could be that it was easier/cheaper for them to ship it that way. [Dunno]

As long as it isn't obviously an PTR or whatever airsoft stock, you're probably fine. If you wanted the sticker and dummy round (do they still give those with stocks?), then email MagPul.

BCM always sends stickers........lol.

I would bet money against Bravo Company selling you a clone. Now if you bought it through a middleman, maybe.

If you want to see clone/"pts" stuff look on ebay....I got stuck with a fake magpul stock once, plastic is lighter and flimsy, rubber buttpad doesn't stay on, the seams and magpul sigil are rough, the metal parts are cheap, and the fit/finish overall is subpar. It will pass at first glance but under scrutiny you can tell they are fakes.

The "PTS" CTR's tend to be fairly easy to identify:

Thanks guys. I just figured they'd have mentioned it shipped without retail box/manual on the item's page at BCM.

Heard back from Magpul. Apparently BCM is prohibited from selling them without retail packaging. Good news is it seems to be genuine so I'm good to go :)

BCM also has added that the item does not ship in retail packaging to the item's page. Case closed.

They're not supposed to be doing it but they're doing it anyways.

I see. From everything I've heard about BCM, they're a reputable company that wouldn't screw you over like that anyway.

I thought they were reputable too. Pretty sheisty what they did though.

Agreed, if you are carrying someone's product and they have a deal with how it's to be presented: DO IT.

I haven't heard back from either Magpul or Bravo Company FWIW. Probably easier to just ignore me.
