NY needs a common-sense law requiring shopping racks to be bolted down so shoplifters cannot knock them over, thus causing unnecessary panic among holiday shoppers. This tragic incident is not the fault of the shoplifter, nor the fault of the vendor, but clearly and quite obviously the fault of the unsecured rack. While some legislators may prefer to ban shopping racks outright, I submit that the march toward complete eradication of such racks must be gradual: first there needs to be legislation introduced that requires all vendors to register their racks and then securely bolt down all shopping racks (severe penalty for failing to adhere). Second, any vendor found not to be in compliance with new rack registration/bolting-to-floor legislation will lose their privilege to have racks and only allowed to sell from cardboard boxes affixed to the floor by eco-friendly duct-tape in colors that do not inflame local gang tensions or elevate/denigrate any race (no white/black/yellow/red/blue tape please).

I cannot understand how a mall, in NEW YORK of all places, thought they could flaunt simple anti-panic measures that are so common-sense and reasonable.

It's truly enough to keep me from visiting such a dangerous state.

I hope so, but I fear that this is the way our society is headed. Over-dramatic lemmings who are "in their own worlds", and react like cattle or animals to something happening to the environment. Sad, this is why I avoid public places as much as i can, and when I have to go I am always looking for ways to quickly get out of the way of a sheeple stampede. I don't even necessarily have to exit. If it really is an active shooter I have ways of protecting myself at all times.




I'm surprised "Military-style" assault swords are still allowed in the UK. Why would the average citizen want or need--for that matter--aweapon capble of mass destruction such as that?
