Anyone ever work for the City of Black Hawk PD or know anyone who has/does? There are a few positions open and a friend of mine is thinking about applying. He's looking for opinions, impressions, general info about them. Thanks for any info.

Good luck.... Small town PD.
They pay REALLY well though.
Sent from my teepee using smoke signals.
Probably get to deal with lots of drunks, lots of old people, some gambling issues, you can write jaywalking tickets all day if so compelled, underage kids trying to gamble.

I have a buddy who left CDOT to work for BH maintenance, said it was the best move he ever made.
Campus police dept probably deals with similar issues as well.

Yep.
Read the police blotter. Lots of stolen change cups.
Don't know anyone on the force but our ex-marshal might be able to answer some questions.
The town is definitely well funded.

The campus police I saw while on campus were well versed in doughnuts with an occasional blue light phone call.
I could never work for a place called Black Hawk. I'd never stop giggling. Sorry.
Two of my friends from academy got hired there. 1 quit right away and the other has been there for about a year now. He likes it.
Good luck on the application, that thing is huge

Back when I was running poker, we had a player who would bust out this old joke on the table now and then:
"This is my first time seeing Black *ock....I didn't realize how big it was".
