So police released some photos and heavily redacted reports and among them are these two. I'm by no means a firearm expert but that doesn't appear to be a bushmaster AR nor do those appear to be .223/5.56 rounds are they?

Notice how every caption reenforced the 20 children and 6 educators killed? Maybe to keep you angry?
Ok, I only watch CSI but that was the weakest evidence ever concocted.
How about the video surveillance system the school had. Just one screen shot of Lanza at the doorway.
Did he Ninja fly through that broken glass?

Does the report specifically say that rifle was used in the shooting? The mother had quite a few firearms, that could have been one that was found in the home.

He supposedly took out his mom with the Savage .22 and the bullets look like 9mm to me.

I hate to break it to you but just like every media outlet The Blaze picked out what photos to post. Whether or not they're being biased is up to you. There are photos of a Saiga 12 in the trunk of the car, spent .223 casings everywhere, dropped magazines, and an AR-15 among other things. Sorry but that's the way it is.

EDIT: I'll make this even easier. Get "22_Assorted_Files.zip" and look at "Walkley - scene photos.pdf" and "Meehan - parking lot photos.pdf"

Yeah the same caption under each photo and lack of disclosure is a head scratcher.

Thanks for the unbiased post. I've learned over the years that there are some people that refuse to believe anything unless it happens in front of them ...and even then they try to cast doubt. I certainty don't believe everything presented by the govt/media as fact but tinfoiling everything is also not reality.

The mental case shot his mom in the face with a .22. There are many pieces to this puzzle.

Unfortunately, they're not on why we have mentally ill people running around committing these atrocities and how do we deal with that.

Exactly!

This Sandy Hook release still leaves me with lots of questions. Among the photo PDFs is positive proof that Nancy knew the little monster wasn't right in the head.

From what I remember, she was looking into getting the little monster committed. It's a difficult process since he was an "adult".

This is just a horrific, ugly tragedy either way you slice it. Those of us here understand it's a mental health problem and not a gun problem. Unfortunately that doesn't fit the politicians "agenda" and won't be exploited. I've said it a million times, you can't legislate the evil out of the hearts of evil men. Although the politicians will have you thinking otherwise. Something that hasn't been talked about much regarding this case...I wonder how his mom secured her firearms? I'm willing to bet they weren't in a gun safe. Of course had they been, her sick demented son would've just found another way to carry out his evil plan. Perhaps had this school also had an armed police officer close by, Lanza would've decided to take the same route as the coward here at Arapahoe High.

The evidence photos show an open gun safe or locker really. Some keys on the desk in that room. Who knows what was in the locker before and after she was killed though.

Yes. But then I look at the photos and see how she coddled him. The blacked out windows, video games, computer, etc...

I'm no psychologist, but even if a kid has issues, he needs to get out of the house and learn how to live in the world.

Lanza had Asperger's Syndrome.

Here's the photo of the bullets.
I copied the CM scale over a few rounds to allow a better "measurement".

The rounds appear to be slightly larger than 1/2 CM. (Approx 0.5 to 0.6 CM = 0.196" to 0.236" )

So IMHO, they correlate with a .223 round.

Where's the gilding metal/jacket?

Looks more like a .22 LR to me.
