View Full Version : Replacement Front Sight Base holes dont line up with cuts in barrel????
So I am trying to put together a a new(to me) upper and the holes in the FSB are not lining up exactly with the existing cuts in the barrel. So what can I do in this case? The holes and cuts are the same distance apart so that is not a problem but you can see the bottoms of the cuts in the barrel through the holes in the FSB.
What are my options with this?
Thread fsb holes and turn it into some kind of "clamp on" fsb?

2 choices:
1- clamp on FSB
2- buy a new FSB and then come see me. I can jig it and drill/ream for the pins.
Even though the one you have now looks like it may work, it won't no matter how much you fiddle with it.
Even if you did the chances of it clocking the FSB out of plumb are high.

Well, it looks like I will be seeing you again soon..

Plan B is a clamp on like MI, YHM etc. I have 1/2 dozen front sight bases/mounts, if you want to drop by and rummage.
