Will this ammo work well in an M4A3 (CMMG) rated .223/5.56 with a 1/7 twist (concerned about the twist...not caliber)

I've never fired 62gr ammo in it and would like to know before I spend the money and find out at the range.

Should be fine... the slower twist is what works best with the heavier grs.

1/7 is actually a FASTER twist than 1/12 or 1/9, faster twist being needed to stabilize longer rounds (relative to caliber).

1/7 was adopted by the military because it's needed to stabilize the EXTREMELY long FN L110 tracer bullet which is used in M856 tracer ammo. The 62gr SS109 bullet used in M855 ball ammo is fine in 1/9 or faster, which means it's also just fine in 1/7.

before you purchased those M855 for .90/bullet after shipping... I have around 10 boxes (200 rds) lake city m855. I can bring them to the gun show in the springs tomorrow if you are interested. [Beer]

PS.. 62gr or higher is perfect for 1/7... you'll notice the accuracy at 150yrd and beyond compare to 55gr for an example.
