The progressives/leftists in joisey want you kids BB guns now.
BB gun control laws in New Jersey could make the classic childhood took a thing of the past. The popular youth guns may be gathering dust on store shelves in the Garden State due the enactment of the Graves Act. The law requires BB guns to be registered and subject to the exact same laws as deadly firearms used for hunting and self-defense purposes.
Parents may no longer be uttering, “You could shout your eye out, kid” when issuing safety warnings after a longed for BB gun is unwrapped on Christmas morning. The New Jersey BB gun control law could make possession of such a prized possession a felony. The holiday classic, A Christmas Story made Daisy’s Red Ryder BB gun a favorite gift for both boys and girls for decades.

The penalty in NJ, is the same for discharging a BB gun as it it a firearm. If you do some research a lot of places in CO have a law where shooting a bb gun in city limits is considered, discharging a firearm.
We seem to be moving towards the British model. The requirements for buying this were the same as for the real thing here in the states! Ridiculous...

That's why I sold my remaining air guns: if I can't shoot them in the back yard, what's the point?! (it's not like I'm going to drive to the range to shoot a pellet gun!).

At least they avoided the tragic boating accident that so many other banned items have met. :)

I am aware of city ordinances, you're right most cities in Colorado have them regarding discharging pellet/bb guns in city limits, but that is not really what this is about. a registry for pellet and bb guns (in any state) is just silly.
My brother caught a felony gun charge for getting caught with a co2 pellet pistol in Jersey 3 or 4 years ago Jersey sucks
When I was ten I was walking down the street with my purple and green paintball gun one of my asshole neighbors called the cops before I knew it I was surrounded by no less then 7 police cars with cops point guns at me and screaming they ended up letting me go cause that was before all these stupid laws took effect

It's really amazing how much things have changed. In the early 80's I remember walking from my dad's house at 66th and York to the sand pits at 72nd and hunting all day... then walking back with a few dead ducks and our shotguns. Not once were we ever stopped and questioned. I'm sure that would result in a SWAT team today...... followed up by some angry words from PETA :)

We have to brainwash people in order to change how they feel about firearms.
It's not just control, it's about creating fear and reducing the desire to own.
Soon, making someone cry in Jersey will result in a Felony Menacing charge.

FYI playing laser tag at night at the local high school is not the best idea. :)

Funny, I've never had issues with the police like that. I went shooting with a buddy once, it was close enough to someones house (still a long distance away) that they called the police because they heard shots and thought we had "machine guns". A lone police officer came to see what was up. We offered to let him shoot with us, which he declined, but no issues at all.
That being said, a BB gun registry is asinine at best, also how would they catch you? Since BB guns are so quiet? We used to shoot BB guns off the deck at my parents house and no one ever knew because of the lack of noise.

Nosey, flag burning, anti-gun, obama voting, entitlement neighbors, ratting you out. After it's for the children.
Now the question I have is how are they going to register them since most of them do not have serial numbers??
They going to make you take it to a ffl and have the info engraved?
