Just announced on their facebook page:
Magpul is Moving. Magpul Industries is relocating Manufacturing, Distribution and Shipping operations to Wyoming and Company Headquarters to Texas. More information is at: www.magpul.com/move
For their sakes I hope TX stays red a while longer...
good for following through.
For their sakes I hope TX stays red a while longer...
If not they'll probably move again... I would have preferred they move to WY, but I can understand their decision to go with TX.

Good for Magpul!
I cannot blame them one bit!
To bad for us but I bet WY is happy to have them

I'd rather they had stayed and fought with us, but perhaps this will help the fight. I doubt it, however.
Now, they are just another company and I personally will only use their stuff if it happens to be the best quality at the price. Thanks for the mags, though.

From what I understand they put a lot of money into the legal challenge. I consider that fighting. They could have just left.

Soon it's not going to matter anyways, a 100,000+ pot smokers are going to move to CO in the next 1-2 years & sway the balance of power in this state for good. We are outnumbered, outspent & soon to be over taxed, sometimes you have to admit the truth............I love this state & we are going to stay & fight, but it's not going to matter. Magpul made a smart business decision & they stood by their word, I respect them for that & I'll continue to support them to the fullest.
Bummer they are moving, but I'm glad they stuck to their guns.

Funny.. Fox31 just announced that Magpul, the ammunition manufacturer is leaving. No wonder I hate the media. Even the 'right' leaning.
ERIE, Colo. — The Colorado-based ammunition manufacturer that threatened to leave the state if more-restrictive gun legislation was passed is finally making good on its threat over nine months after the new gun laws went into effect.
In a press release issued on Thursday, Magpul Industries CEO Richard Fitzpatrick said his company, which currently employs 250 in Colorado, will be relocating its shipping operations to Cheyenne, Wyo. and its company headquarters to an undisclosed location in Texas.
The company said it is still deciding between three possible North Central Texas locations for its headquarters, and that the transition to its new home will begin as soon as a decision is made.
Support received from governors in both states — Matt Mead in Wyoming and Rick Perry in Texas — played a big role in the selection of both sites, Magpul wrote in the release.
“Moving operations to states that support our culture of individual liberties and personal responsibility is important,” Fitzpatrick said. “This relocation will also improve business operations and logistics as we utilize the strengths of Texas and Wyoming in our expansion.
Fitzpatrick went on to note that the move is expected to take place at some point in the next 12 to 16 months.

Look at the demographics.
Consider birthrates by sector.
Now that you have looked at the demographics of TX, look at how different groups vote.

Thats racist!

nynco, the president you voted for wants to turn all those "undocumented citizens" into US citizens. Just to make it easier to understand for ya.

/slight side-note: I have to admit, I'd be almost willing to allow the illegals to vote...IF they passed a comprehensive citizenship test. At least then they'd know more about the way the US works than many present residents.
Quite frankly, I think even legal citizens should have to pass one on a regular basis (say, every 5 years) in order to vote. If you don't know that there are three branches of government, and that they are the legislative, the executive, and the judicial, then you shouldn't be voting.
You guys do realize that most Mexicans are very conservative and only vote Democratic because the GOP chases them away. But hey... what ever. I was not trying to troll, it was an honest question as to why and how you see TX that way. Heck I know many people that would vote GOP if you guys gave up the drug war, the religious laws and would return back to the founding fathers interpretation of corporate rights. But the propaganda machines on both sides mold the minds and run the dog and pony show... so whats the next useless battle to distract us with because pot is ending in a decade.

If they were conservative, they would vote as such. I'm a libertarian but no matter how annoyed I get with the Republican party, you'll never find me voting for a D.

This isn't how we see or interpret anything. It's a stated goal that they're working towards.
I would tear down 50% of the prisons in American and wipe the record clear for all those who are in there for drugs or other non violent acts. Then ban all for profit jails esp the ones that lobby congress for new laws to help fill the jails more. You can get a felony for blowing your nose wrong now.
I don't like people who are here illegally. I think it is wrong. But we have a situation where one side will never hold the employers accountable that hire these people and another side that wants to legalize them. Its a no win either way. Whoooo hoooo freedome of the two party dictatorshit.

So they can cast the molds in CO and assemble them in WY.

I would like to know what the actual numbers are, you say most? I am not rascist and don't lime referring to them as Mexicans, but "most" of the ones I see are system sucking shitheads that have more shit then I do and never work because they keep having kids to get more money. They take advantage of everything they can, even the free tools people were giving away during the flood to flood victims, one person who didn't love in the flood zone told me how much stuff they had gotten free because no one is checking ID's, they said I should go get some stuff? Some are born here or come here and work hard to make a life.
In short the GOP doesn't chase them away, they try to keep them from coming here illegally and they don't give them as much free shit, so yes why wouldn't they vote for a democrat who campaigned on the promise to give them free shit and citizenship?
I can't dispute this, and for all I know, they are still funding it. [Dunno]

Yeah, we all live in Liberal states anyway. I mean, do states even matter anymore in a post-Constitutional America? I don't know...
My hope is that CO isn't lost. But the big picture seems to have less to do with states and more to do FedGov.
But Magpul has to stay in business and they are sending a message in the meantime. At the very least, they continue to saturate the market with mags and decent products that Liberals hate. :)

Ok, so I know nothing about friends who have never been violent or committed a crime who went to jail or had their lives ruined for pot. Or someone in my family who was nearly not let into the military for a pot infraction because some moron in his car (NOT HIM) was arrested for pot. Which he is still proudly serving honorable and has been for over a decade. The driver of the car thanks to some asinine law was implicated for something out of his control. Count yourself lucky that you haven't a fucking clue why prison is important even for non-violent acts (white collar). Do you have any idea how many lives are ruined financially/emotionally/materially by your "non violent acts" from fuckstains that screw people over by manipulation or taking advantage of them/'the-system'? FFS you're ignorant and a perfect picture of the liberal democrat at large.
Kestrel, I agree white collar crime is a huge problem. Sadly they don't go to jail while stoner pot heads do. So please don't paint me with your stawman there.
My point is the right wing would never have lost elections in Colorado that lead the the loss of 2nd Amendment freedom if it were not for the hypocrisy of things like the drug war. You can't be for personal freedom and espouse states rights and then be against personal freedom in relation to pot and then against states rights in relation to pot either.
You all best listen to what I am saying with an objective mind because if you don't see that hypocrisy then your 2nd Amendment rights are doomed.

Pot heads go to jail? Maybe in the 90s. Not even the low level dealers go to prison anymore. The prison system is overcrowded and prosecutors are after violence crime, or big drug distributors which cause the first anyway. Time to update your facts, jack!

In conjunction, if you opened a small walk-in store at your new facility in Cheyenne, the people of Wyoming and visitors to the state of Wyoming would be able to stop by and purchase some of your fine products.

I was trying to be short and in no way meant to include white collar crime. I do think that ruining peoples lives for small things is hurting our society by creating more crime in the future. I believe that people deserve the right and the ability to reform and lead a good life in the future after serving time. That includes voting rights too and very much so the ability to find a job that keeps them from committing more crime to survive. The current situation is making things worse and costing us more tax dollars than necessary. Sadly, the real criminals like Madoff don't go to jail like normal citizens. We live in a country where wealth has created a two tier system of justice. The founding fathers would not approve of the modern versions of kings and aristocracy being above the law.

Or, how about making them work while they're locked up...
Oh, and go MagPul.

I think that using slave labor to compete in the free market distorts the market. No freeman can compete with slave labor.
No. Read what he posted. He wants the GOP to become the New Democrat party.

Great, another Nynco pro-pot thread. Dude, stop whizzing in the communal watering hole. Find a spot for your agenda and keep it there.
I really wish you guys would stop quoting him. It defeats having him on my ignore list.
What happened here in a very short timeline is not likely to happen in TX, even though some seem to keep repeating it. Their legislature doesn't have the opportunity to screw their citizenry every year. They meet every other year, the job doesn't pay squat, and they have only a short window to attend to real business.
Elections have consequences, and that goes both ways. I'm glad Magpul is sticking to their guns on this. Congrats to both WY and TX.
I don't get the referrences to TX from you guys? "Texas, well, I don't see them being there too long." can you explain?
Texas is at the top of the list for conquest and it won't take as much as one might think to do it. Get Dallas and Houston on board and just like Colorado the rest of the state is fucked.

Yeah, I do. And they tell me not to trust liberal, douchebag pro-gun posers. So, I don't.

Nynco, requiring inmates to pay their own room and board by working it off is hardly slave labor.
Go Magpul.
Hollohas, its not about them working its about the competition for jobs and wage level. There is no way to compete when a company says... hey shut your pie hole or well hire an inmate.

You guys do realize that most Mexicans are very conservative and only vote Democratic because the GOP chases them away.
I'm really tired of the canard that Republicans are chasing away Mexicans and other Hispanics. That is a myth invented by the Democrats. What the Republicans have drawn a line on is trying to stem the flood of illegal immigration; liberals -- in and out of the media -- have spun that into latent xenophobia when the Republicans have actually welcomed anyone who wants to work hard, immigrate legally, and assimilate into American culture rather than expecting America to make allowances for THEIR culture (and I say this as a so-called "minority" whose parents and grandparents assimilated).
You're being called a troll because you keep spreading this kind of BS even as you admit the Democrats are anti-gun. Your prior posts show you have no freaking clue about the Founding Fathers' interpretations, "corporate rights" or otherwise (heck, your reference to "religious laws" is a demonstration of your ignorance of the state of legislation during the first 120-180 years of this country's existence).

How is that substantially different from public sector unions? Obviously we're not talking about inmate labor. But when you have unionized workers in public sector jobs and performing functions no one else can do, same-same, is it not? And we all know how liberals love their unions.

Should the driver frisk every passenger at all times. Should that apply to bus drivers too? I mean our pot laws make so much sense.
Whooo BIG GOVERNMENT OK...
If these friends knew that pot was illegal and could potentially ruin there life or require them to do time why would they smoke pot?? If the law says you smoke pot you go to jail.... DONT SMOKE POT UNLESS YOU WANT TO GO TO JAIL! If you dont like the law vote and change it or go all Red Dawn and overthrow the ruling government!
This thread is great! I enjoy the argument of I dont agree with the law so I won't follow it and then I will be shocked when I'm punished.
I miss Magpul. I poor some out for Chris Costa every time I crack open a 40.
Magpul can run but they can't hide.
Nathan reread what I wrote. The DRIVER of the car got arrested because someone in the car had pot on them. Stupid NY state law that should be unconstitutional in my opinion. Should you as a parent be arrested for what your teen kid does? Well in relation to drug laws, they can arrest you in some states for possession even if someone else has it and not you. Its insane...

You said this:
"Ok, so I know nothing about friends who have never been violent or committed a crime who went to jail or had their lives ruined for pot."
So yeah... I didn't say anything about your family member car situation. I dont agree with your logic on that topic either but I dont talk about folks families so long as they dont talk about mine.
We can all argue the merits/non merits of pot and the political ramifications but as far as I'm concerned whether it's pot, lifestyle choices or anything else, any decision made by our government to get their asses out of our personal lives is a good decision. Government needs to stick with providing for our defense and basic necessities such as infrastructure and care for the people that truly need it. Outside of that they can all take a flying fuck

how do I KNOW there is more to this story ....
Probably cuz I've seen an episode or two of COPS......
Lemme guess they got pulled over cop smelled weed in the car .. yanked em both out searched car found weed .. no one would confess to ownership of said pot.. cop arrested everyone in the car
that how it REALLY went down ?
Moral of that story ?
Don't hang with people that smoke weed.. or at least don't hang with ones that won't own up to their shit.

Honestly, you should start a thread in GD called "This is where I argue with people" and then that can be your special place. I'm sure others will join you and all sorts of fun will be had while keeping other threads on their rails.

MODS is there anyway for quotes involving ignored people to be hidden as well?

I support Magpul.... ANOTHER sad day for Colorado!
Yes. If you're not responsible for raising your child properly, who is?
While I do agree with you that the raising of children properly is the responsibility of the parents, I can't agree with you that a parent should be arrested for crimes their teenager (or kid of any age) commits. IMO, The kid needs to bare the weight of the consequences themselves, and the parents need to allow the consequences to be dealt for their child's own good. If the parent is a criminal themselves, then seperate charges should be filed upon them too, and perhaps they're looked into by the child protective services folks for the sake of their kids, but arrested for something they did not commit and were not an accomplice to? I say no. That's going too far.

So you think people may give 2nd thought to reproducing or give some thought to the decisions they make in raising them? Wouldn't this make society a better/safer place for everyone. Isn't that why we create laws these days?

That is precisely the problem. Government officials with exactly that mindset are proposing and passing new laws at an increasingly frequent pace, infringing on individual rights and freedoms and taking away personal responsibility. I am 100% for individual rights and personal responsibility.
The truth of the matter is, certain elements of society do not give the 1st thought to reproducing or raising their children, so why would they give a 2nd thought because the kid might misbehave and get on the wrong side of the law? The parents need to start the beginning and choose to have kids, choose to raise them properly, choose to give them freedom and the responsibility to deal with their own consequences, etc... It's not the job of the government of laws to baby sit us, but the left sure want it to be that way. "They know best" *sarcasm*....

Laws went into effect 01JUL13, but were passed/signed on 20MAR13.
Apparently the media no longer cares about or does not have a staff that is capable of reporting accurate info.

I'd reckon both.

Why would they let facts or logic get in the way of their agenda?
