Ok WTF is the deal with Walbogs being bone dry when it comes to ammo.....I called every Walbogs in town (Co Spgs, WP, and Monument) and not one had 9mm!

Or they were selling the last of it as I was on the phone with em.......crazy.

Try sports authority. I know here in the Denver area they get their ammo shippment in on Tuesdays, might be the same down there. I've been buying the 100rd Winchester white box of 9mm for $25!!

Gander mountain around 104th and I-15 has a ton of .40

they had no 9mm when I was there and a little bit of .45

My buddy just bought a .45 and bought some there...25 bucks for a box of 50.

the winchester white box they wanted I believe either 35 or 40 bucks per box of 50...[Bang]

Talking with clerks, the problem isn't walmart. It's the shooters, just like everything else. For instance this guy gets 10 cases of 45ACP in the evening. By the time he comes back to work the next day, it's already all gone. Prior to that, 19 cases of 9mm comes in, some guy comes in and buys 14 CASES. Second guy in buys 2 CASES. Thats not getting shot, it's getting put under floorboards cause some retards honestly think the UN/Obama/Federales/Whatever is really coming for them.

Then you show up (guy B) and want to buy 2 boxes so you can hit the range. Well, cause guy A naively bought entire overpriced inventory (and he never shoots anything), your screwed and can't shoot anything either.

I guess I'm somewhere in the middle...in the past 6 months I've bought more than 1,000rds of 5.56, and maybe shot 200 rounds of that...but damnit, I have a new 9mm pistol I want to get acquainted with, but cant because the only ammo I've been able to find for it has been a single 50rd box of Fiocchi at Big 5...I want to shoot it, but I want to have something in it in case somebody I wasnt expecting decides to stop by and say hello in the middle of the night...

56 boxes of 200 round Remmington .223 50 grain FMJ, they have a full case of Winchester 5.56mm behind the counter but it is $10 for 20! They are also suppose to be getting Winchester white boxes in 9, 40 ,and 45. I am sure this will sell out quick!

I found out that for the location nearest me that they often put out ammo first thing in the morning. Around 8 am give or take. But I couldn't find out for sure what days exactly; I'm not sure if it's truly irregular or if the gentleman I spoke to just didn't want to disclose it.

But if you guys are diligent and check out the various locations around that time, you just might be rewarded. It might take having to go 3-4 times a week but it'll work eventually.

I barely want to shoot 9mm anymore due to the prices, 5.56 is going fast too at the rate I am shooting every other week or so. I still refuse to purchase retail from Walmart etc. Bulk purchases are good.but they are going up every month too.

Doesnt anyone has any sources for M855, or X193??

I'm guy A and I don't think it's a problem. I'm not trying to screw anyone out of their fun at the range, but I have reasons for having some extra ammo on hand:

Legislation could make it harder to get some, though this is the least of my concerns.
I want to have some of my "emergency fund" in usable and tradable goods, such as ammo, canned goods, etc. It's just common sense preparation for inflation, local or national emergency, or the unlikely TEOTWAWKI situation. I'm not trying to make a stand against the government or anything, just want to "be prepared".
Buying when it's available means I have some ammo for that trip to the range. If I don't buy several boxes when they are available, I may not get a chance for a while.I know how frustrating it can be watching someone buy the last box in front of you, but it makes it that much sweeter when you get some. :) No offense meant to anyone.

That said, at least two Walmarts I've been to have a six box limit now.

Leasures Treasures is great, especially for surplus. They have always had stuff in stock when I go, but it is a bit high priced. That's the way to do business, though. It's a no brainer: "Hmm, every time I get ammo in stock, it's bought up the first day, maybe I should raise prices".

I'm a cheapo, so I get most of my ammo online, but /i have bought many boxes from them. Last time I was there, I found an old box of new 30-06 in one of the cans still marked at $12! I looked like three times for ore. :) They actually gave it to me at that price too!

Keep your eyes open and have fun on the hunt! [Luck]

I'm not a fan of Specialty Sports either, they have very high prices and seem aloof (some have said arrogant). It's one thing to have high prices, but trying to convince someone it's a good price is a little low.

I did get some decent help last time I was there though looking for a bore light: they didn't have one, nor did Paradise Sales and the one from Sportsman's Warehouse was broken! What is the deal! I did finally get one at Sports Authority.

I keep looking and calling 4 different Wal-Marts here in Colorado Springs. I haven't come across any 9mm or 22LR Federal 550 rnd cartons for about 2 months.

I have a little bit of 22LR in stock, but not much. I have about 1 trip to the range for the family of 9mm in stock. Would really like to get considerably more so that the family can go shooting and develop some skills (wife, daughter, and son have limited experience and I need to get their skill level up).

When I have been lucky enough to find any of this ammo, I have only bought 3 boxes (100rnd) max on any particular trip so as not to take too much and to leave some for others. Now, I'm rethinking my unselfish attitude because the selfish attitude of others is hurting me and my family.

Sure, places like Specialty Sports and Paradise have ammo in stock more often than Wal-Mart, but (at this point), I'd rather wait than to pay the jacked up prices stores like this are charging.

For those of you buying cases upon cases of ammo and trying to justify it to the rest of us, save your breath, I'm not buying it.
