A bit tin foilly as background radiation on certain part of Earth can be as high as ground zero of Chernobyl or Fukushima.
But, my cousin in Tokyo has been asking me to send them Potasium Iodide and keeps warning me about eating fish from the Pacific. Well read on... and judge for yourself.
The west coast of the United States is being absolutely fried by radiation from the Fukushima nuclear disaster, and the mainstream media is not telling us the truth about this. What you are about to see is a collection of evidence that is quite startling.
Taken collectively, this body of evidence shows that nuclear radiation from Fukushima is affecting sea life in the Pacific Ocean and animal life along the west coast of North America in some extraordinary ways. But the mainstream media continues to insist that we don’t have a thing to worry about.
The mainstream media continues to insist that radiation levels in the Pacific and along the west coast are perfectly safe. Are they lying to us? Evaluate the evidence compiled below and come to your own conclusions…

We don't buy any pacific rim food, even Alaskan. No spices of dried goods from China, too. When you look at point of origin and tell the counter help, sorry we don't buy pac. rim fish, then explain why. Thye have this blank HUH? look. The one who really didn't get in of all places was Whole Foods. He went blank and i explained the japanese melt down, it never clicked. So much for organic.

There was a recent story about the carrier Reagan and how a number of its sailors were exposed and have cancer type ailments during relief efforts there in Japan.

Salmon hatch and grown to juvenile Size in fresh water. They go to the ocean and then return to fresh water to spawn the next batch

Nah, Obama wants all military to die anyway. He couldn't give a rats ass about sailors or soldiers suffering from cancer. Now, if they were Welfare recipients or illegal immigrants, he'd be all over increasing taxes to pay for their care ...
I always assume that the media is lying or twisting stories/data to help thier own agendas.

An interesting write-up from physical oceanographer Dr. Kim Martini:

Spot on with what the people I know in the nuclear field are saying. However It doesn't address the other contaminants that were washed out. Also that the country of origin might not be where it was caught. I.e. a Mexican trawler might be fishing in the bearing sea.
I was stationed in Misawa Japan for the earthquake and Tsunami. Out base was the closest to the major flood damage so a lot was staged from there. Sadly I wonder what the effects on myself and my family will be. Prevailing winds send the radiation away from the base but we still ate the food.

Had a few chinooks out of Lake Superior that got smoked and tasted great. My uncle on my mom's side took me camping and trout fishing near Sault Ste Marie on a spring break and we got some nice ones.
Seen some articles recently about crab and cod from Alaskan waters might be contaminated. Nothing with consistent numbers on dosage, but with radiation I'm more hesitant than with other contamination speculation. Especially since I love to eat pacific cod and crab legs.

The normal amount of radiation in food may be disturbing to some people...
