Does the Coliseum have metal detectors at the doors or security with wands?

It would be event dependent, but I have never had an issue there. The City doesn't maintain any kind of security.

The last Cutthroats game I went to (Dec of 2012) DID NOT have metal detectors or security wands

Last time I was there for a concert they were patting down and using wands. No fixed metal detectors though.

Trojan makes an a good 6 O'clock holster for such occasions. It's very thin, but has strategically placed ribs for support.

I use those for 12 o'clock, but whatever suits you, man...

That sounds mighty uncomfortable.

Well, I learned the hard way that the game was in Aspen, CO last night and not at the Coliseum.

Those are only for sailors.

Wouldn't really matter unless they have a sign out, the law reads "permanently installed" in relation to metal detectors.

Edit:

C.R.S. 18-12-106 Prohibited Use of Weapons
...
(4) A permit issued pursuant to this part 2 does not authorize a person ta carry a concealed handgun into a public building at which:
(a) Security personnel and electronic weapons screening devices are permanently in place at each entrance to the building;
(b) Security personnel electronically screen each person who enters the building to determine whether the person is carrying a weapon of any kind; and
(c) security personnel require each person who is carrying a weapon of any kind to leave the weapon in possession of security personnel while the person is in the building

So, to me that means 1) if they don't have screeners at back entrances, loading dock entrances, etc. it doesn't matter, AND 2) if they are not screening employees, performers, etc. it doesn't matter.

Those are only for sailors. No. Pretty much for any sea men.

Private property- they can dictate whatever they want in terms of weapons policy- but really all they can do is deny you entrance and/or ask you to leave (risk getting trespassing ticket if you take it further and involve LE). The law only states that you're not subject to arrest for concealed carry.

Wasn't that what we were talking about? The legality?

Yes, but I believe the original question was whether or not they had magnetometers/wands. Even if they don't, it's subject to the rules of the venue on what they decide weapons policy is and how/if they want to check for that. If they don't check but don't allow, concealed means concealed, just don't get caught or you could be asked to leave (either by staff or those nice gentlemen from the local PD- I believe the Coliseum is Denver's jurisdiction). Against better wishes, I usually don't carry at big events at places like Pepsi Center and anytime I *may* consume alcohol. Haven't carried at Stock Show since getting my CCW, I'll have to check the policy for that on whether or not I would decide to or not.

ETA: Speaking of the Stock Show, does anyone know what the policy is in regards to firearms at the National Western Complex? I can't find anything on either theirs or the stock show website.

This is my shocked face.

Wife wants to go to the boat show, still need to check my options. last time we were at any shows boat/rv/etc there were no checks in place at either the stock show grounds or the Denver convention center.

The Coliseum and Stock Show Complex are city owned/operated facilities, so they shouldn't be allowed to regulate carry, but I doubt the security staff and/or cops working the facility know that, so, concealed means concealed.

The upcoming Bike show will be interesting. been years sinc ewe attended, however between the cops, off duty cops, patch holders and others ;) CCW'ing makes for an interesting event. Especially as one attuned to CCW plays "spot the pistol" game. The JTF do a decent job, between cameras, listening devices, eyes on.

It's the Stock Show, Cowboys, horses and guns, hell I bought a 45 Vaquero just so I had something to go with my hat and boots. I have always carried at the Stock Show, but that could change from year to year though.
