I'm doing some upgrades to my lmt defender 2000 this week.
On the way...
fortis rail 12"
lp gas block
Geissele ssa trigger
And I spaced it and ordered two comps. i'd love to hear experiences with either
- rainer arms xtc
- fortis red comp
I own both of these... thoughts?
My shooting is tactical and target. No competition. Not so worried about flash.
Neither...I like the plain old a2
Try both of them out and see which one performs better on your firearm and sell the other.

There's so much good stuff coming out of Colorado. Why do I always hear about it after I send money out of state :)

Thanks for the plug Dell.
To to the OP, the Rainer XTC did not perform very well in our testing. Never checked out the Fortis, but it should way outperform the Rainer.

Thanks. I suppose then I will start with the Fortis and then post some reviews! Your brake looks really nice also. I wish I had seen it first! It looks to be a bit shorter than the Fortis.

Well I've put 250 rounds through each, and I will be leaving the XTC on my rifle.
The fortis red was an effective brake, but the concussion and noise was really something else.
The XTC on the other hand, seemed to be just as effective as a brake, and wasn't as loud and I noticed that the "cleanup" in the sight picture through my 1x4 @1x at close range was much better. It was just more pleasurable to shoot the XTC.
