But Shelley Stow of Reform Sex Offender Laws — a Massachusetts-based organization that seeks to ease restrictions on offenders and promote rehabilitation — said she wouldn't be surprised to see more cases out there. "It is so difficult for registrants to even get jobs and support themselves and function day to day, let alone pursue a law career," she said.

Tell ya what darling. lets have a few pedo's babysit your kids a few hours. Then tell me "How difficult it is" Stupid tnuc

There are probably plenty of pedophiles practicing law already - just not very many convicted pedos yet.

She is missing one very important part of the equation.

You cannot "rehabilitate" a pedophile.

Its all but proven fact that pedophiles can't be "rehabilitated" so why on gods green earth would anyone want to make it easier for them to "become mainstream citizens"? They should have evil pedophile tattooed on their foreheads and thrown in general population, then if they live through their sentence, at least a kid and thier parents have a fighting chance when its really obvious they're a fucking pos.

Although if I really had my way, they'd never see a day of jail time as they would be publicly executed immediately after conviction.

There wouldn't be an employment issue for convicted pedos if they were dealt with "properly" at sentancing.

Ventilation of cranial cavity solves all convicted pedo problems IMO.

I beg to differ. I have an easy rehab program guaranteed to have 100% success rate, 0% recidivism rate.

i doubt a correctly appointed judicial bench would disagree.
A true Jury of your Peers would mean 6-12 gun owners.

I'm guessing the cost of your program is about $0.40 per attendee? :)

Maybe $0.80 if they didn't get enough of the materials the first time.

Pretty close. Although I do offer financial aid for some that will bring the out of pocket expenses to $0. A free program. It's a win/win all the way around.

I would be happy to donate to eliminate any expenses for matls or application thereof.

Great! Just be advised that, as of now, your donation is NOT tax deductible.

This guy is the worst case to bring up the Sex Offenders list. To be clear, I am not supporting the guy called out here or any like him but the sex offenders list is too broad. I know a person that was 18 and slept with a 17 year old girl (which he did not know her real age) that got put on the list. Others have been put on the list for pissing on a garbage can at 2AM or college streaking. If you are on there for real rape (not statutory), pedophilla or other serious sex crimes... Screw you. You get what you deserve but not everything having to do with a swinging cod rises to the currently low bar.

^^ Agreed...for the most part. Just like anything else sometimes it will get taken too far. But, I'm curious...where (what state?) did your 18 year old get in trouble for having sex with a 17 year old (assuming it was consensual)?

California, oddly enough, is a strict 18 state, no 14+4 or anything.

Arizona is another but I think he said it was in California that he got in trouble. I used to be a lifeguard in Missouri and for the life of me some of those girls you would swear were in their 20's and turned out to be 15 or even younger. We had a policy of not dating patrons for this reason (losely followed). Girls really do mature faster and I remember my college years. Its amazing I am still alive taking my years between 18-21. If you force your way onto a girl (or anybody for that matter) or in any way know they are too young you deserve to be on the list. That being said being young and stupid (to a point) should not kill the rest of your life.

I heard that excuse from a frat @ CSU. They were finally terminated.

Do things happen where judicial common sense fails, absolutely. Does there seem to be a knee jerk reaction , as with zero tolerance in schools, most definitely. I also know a guy (former co-worker) cost him $8K to fight the SO title after pissing (drunk) in old town.
However when someone is a REPEAT OFFENDER , fuck them. Bullet to the brain pan.

Agreed. I knew someone who was convicted of statutory rape for an incident years that occurred years before he was charged even though the then-girl's parents testified on his behalf (their daughter had misled him on her age). I also personally knew a girl in college who brought her 14-year-old sister to visit for a weekend and took her to frat parties -- little sister would tell people she was a freshman (which she was) and let them assume she was in college (which she wasn't) and therefore legal. Sure enough, a guy I knew spent the night with her before finding out the whole story. We gave him a bunch of crap for it but the reality was that the girl instigated everything and the guy would have felt the full weight of the law if a zealous cop or prosecutor had found out.

The Colorado attorney general's office and the Division of Real Estate both have used Cory Morrison, an Aurora man who pleaded guilty in 2002 to molesting two boys, to serve subpoenas for various litigation

Come on man he deserves a second chance, right ? [facepalm]

Now now, I thought Robert Redford put that to bed. They weren't "terrorists" like Christian groups, Tea Party groups, or veterans, they were just "the company we keep" ...
