Ugh, I can't find it!

I lost my carry knife and now I feel like a part of me is gone, I mean really gone. I use mine all day, I am so lost without it.
I never took it out for a family photo, but here is a stock photo:

Misery loves company, anyone else loose theirs? Where? How?

Lost the same knife. 551s with teal wilkinsgrips. My first big boy folder. Was shearing this huge juniper that we had to shear. I got done, we headed back tovthe shop, I check for my knife and its gone. It did have a somewhat weak clip and I should've put it in the work truck. Lesson learned.

It always happens when I loan it to someone for a couple seconds to use.

"Do you have a knife I can use real quick?" I don't think anyone took it, but I always loose things after I loan something out. Maybe it is the change in routine, and I put it down after I used it instead of always putting it back in my pocket. Wierd.

I "lost" mine a few years back after climbing Whitney. It's far too long of a story to recreate here but suffice it to say, I had just hiked 22 miles, beginning at midnight the night before and once I got back to the Jeep I needed to cut a replacement 'window' out of cardboard (bear in mind, I was whooped at this point and just wanted to crawl into a sleeping bag and get some rest). I went to a small market in Lone Pine and rummaged through their dumpster to find some cardboard big enough for a replacement front passenger side window.

Once I got to cutting the window, with my knife, an older somewhat friendly guy approached and talked to me as I was fashioning a new window for my drive back to CO. By the time I was in the duct tape stage of the process, he told me to have a good evening and walked off.

After I taped on the new window covering I went to the back of the vehicle to get my knife off the bumper. It apparently was too much temptation for the talkative stranger as my knife was now gone from right where I'd set it.

Thankfully I'm a big fan of spares so I pulled it's identical twin out of the safe when I got home, but having something stolen leaves a bad taste...

I started carrying cheap knives at work after my second Spyderco stainless Police went missing, the same day our van driver quit. For some reason, my Gerber superknife box cutter always gets returned...

Lost my Kershaw folder, which was the only decent folder I've ever owned.

Thing is, I was debating on making this my knife at work. I dismissed the idea after I figured it would be too complicated to remember to grab a different knife for the day then switching when I got home. Maybe I'll do that now on.

I found one of these a few months back sitting in a ditch on the side of a highway.
It was so dull you would have thought the previous owner was cutting sheet metal with it.
After a long frustrating sharpening, it has been my work knife ever since.
It holds a edge very well, and only needed resharpening A couple of times to to maintain a shave your arm edge.
I would have never have spent what one of these cost for a work knife.http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/07/yhe9a4ug.jpg

Sent from my ass using re-fried beans.

I'm so cheap, I resharpen the boxcutter blades when they get dull...a quick swipe across the buffing wheel on the grinder, and they're good for another week...

I switched to a Safety razor for shaving. 10c per blade is awesome

I found a Spyderco a couple years back, if you can tell me about the knife and the initials engraved on it, I might give it back. [Coffee]

This one year at band camp...

I also carry a Grip. I'd cry if it was lost.

The only knife I've lost was a Case Trapper. Had it for several years and one day it was just gone. Always wanted to replace it but the '70s vintage are popular (expensive) right now.

I did have a Mini Grip stolen but that just pissed me off.

I've lost 2 Spyderco Natives. It is quite distressing.

Snapped the tip off my Native several years ago.
Just found it in the garage the other day.
Need to go to the factory, and see what they'll do.

Once upon a time I used to keep a Spyderco Salt on my boat in FL until it became clear that it just couldn't last a season without finding its way into an invited guests pockets when they left.

I must have "please steal from me" written somewhere on me...thankfully nobody ever stole the Glock 32 that lived on the boat, although I kind of wish someone had.

I've managed to never lose a knife that I cared about. I've also never lost a pair of sunglasses. Now debit and credit cards...

I really want a Native FRN in black, but the nearly full length serrations isn't exactly my type of edge.

The owners of Spyderco bank where my wife works, and she's become quite chatty with them, maybe they could do a custom job. This is the one...

As far as losing knives. I had a really nice Benchmade years ago that I drove off with it sitting on the edge of my pickup bed.

So, I found it not far from where this happened, I guess what I did is instead of my routine I took it out, used it, lent it out, got it back and walked away and set it down.

Ohhh well, now I have two Griptillians! I guess I'll give it to the wife for Valentines day.

I left my spyderco paramilitary on a table at a Sonic. I cried. Can't really bring myself to spend that much on a carry knife anymore. Now I carry a tenacious, but it's basically a faint miniscule glimmer of what the paramilitary was. I would love to get a PM2, but the fear of losing it is too great. lol
