View Full Version : I held a Glock 41 and 42 today
Look what it saw today at a LGS. The Glock 42 is a small 380 and the 41 is a tactical 45ACP similar to the 34 and 35. You can only look and hold, they are taking preorders but no sales until the 14th.

The 41 looks interesting, but I'll pass on the 42.

The 42 has been around forever...... it was just a Military/LE restricted gun....
Sent from my teepee using smoke signals.
I'm thinking the same thing, the main reason I like the 41 is that should mean a 10mm long slide is close behind. The picture does not show the true size of the 42, it is much thinner when you hold it, than any other Glock that exists now. But still bigger than most small 380's, like P3AT or LCR. I can't come up with a good size comparison.
The 42 is a totally new gun for Glock, there other 380's are on the larger frames that currently exist. This frame has never been issued before this gun, anywhere in the world.
Has anyone heard when the single stack .40 S&W and .357 SIG will come out? I'm not sure I need anything smaller than a Glock 27 but I wouldn't mind fondling it for size.
Anyone know what msrp is on the 42?

According to my new Guns & Ammo mag, $475.
The LE price is $319 and the civillian price is $399

This ^^^
I've dabbled in the single stack world of carry via the Shield 9mm, and the positives just don't outweigh the negatives IMO, certainly not in a 380.

Kahr CW9-ish maybe?
There is a screen shot of the G&A spec sheet in the WTF were they thinking thread.

Any chance Glock is holding out until SHOT show to announce the 9mm version of the 42? That's a gun I would be interested in.

Call me crazy, but I kinda like the idea of the 41! But I already have a FNP-45, so...

How different are these long slide models from the originals? I mean does it give you that much more velocity than a G21 on a .45? Or is it more of a competition gun?

Don't forget about the longer sight radius.
These G41 long slides are designed to compete with the 5" barrel 1911. You get extra capacity and what seems like reduced recoil as well as a longer sight radius. I am hoping the G40 will be this frame size with the longer narrower slide in 10mm then I think both velocity and my interest will noticeably increase.

A Glock 40 that shoots 10mm? [Coffee]
That's a Glock model number 40 not 40 cal, and yes 10mm is to long for the 40 mag.

I thought it might be trying to mimic the 5" barrel from the 1911. Longer sight radius definitely would be better, didn't even think of that!

Spoke to the fellas at 2nd Amendment in Loveland a few days ago. It seems that they'll be getting 40 of the Glock 42s and "several" Glock 41s within the next 2 weeks.

Check around the new glocks started shipping the week After shot show.
Might have to pick me up one of each..

GT Distributors has them available online. LEO/Mil/Fire/EMS pricing available. $489 for the G41!
I know Ark Tactical has a 41 and a 42 in stock. I don't remember the prices though.
ETA: He sold the 42's but is ordering more and he still has the G41.

Stopped in and checked it out. Very cool little gun but I'll keep my Shield. I'm sure there will be extended mags but just a little small for me.
Bought 2 G-42's, very slim and compact but feels good in my hand. Just need to make it out to shoot them and I will do a review.
