Except northern ice grew a tremendous amount last year. And this year, a ship got stuck in ice, much thicker than it should have been for the season. Weird. Oh, and go to the museum, look at global temps when dinosaurs roamed, warmer then too...

Im convinced the earth is getting cooler, an we saw a brief slightly warmer spell for a little bit. Heck, our datalogs dont even go back very far that theyre trying to measure off of! Even a failing business has good months, This is a cooler earth having a few warm years.

Oh, and very very very stupid, have you been to walmart lately, remember those people vote!

But if the earth is getting cooler it's obviously man made global warming causing it... right? Not like it has ever happened before.

Climate scientists that believe this "global warming" bs only go back about as far as 30 years (one was on NBC Nightly News tonight- don't ask why I watched it). In reality, earth has gone in climate cycles, and humans have made very little impact on the global temps. What has an even bigger impact are naturally occurring things like volcanic eruptions, which have been known to cause climate changes in the last several million years. They can't stick to one story- "the planet is getting hotter!" "The planet is getting colder!" FFS, it's just fluctuating in temperature like it always has.

Bingo. Just as gun control laws are about control and not guns, this man-made climate change BS is an excuse to take more control of our lives and reduce our freedom under the guise of saving the planet...for the children.

I think I was watching Hannity last night and he had some climate change proponent - some global warming BS business owner dork - that said the warm, rising air in the North Pole is causing the cold air to "drop" into North America.

I take a rather short-term view: I won't be here even 50 years from now, so I really don't care what occurs 60+ years from now. That particular worldview doesn't exactly mesh with the town I live in, but that's the reality of it.

...it'd be fun to see NYC or Miami streets 10' deep in water if sea levels rise though [Evil]

Atmospheric research and global climatology is not a political issue and I wish we would stop treating like one. I have been in Colorado's mountains for the last 30 years and have seen the snowfall, tempurature and weather patterns change. I am no scientist, but have used my eyes and my brain. I put my life on the line all winter (literally) trying to manage the weather, in my experience it is changing. One cold weekend does not a climate science make!

I hope my grand-kids will also get the chance ski those beautiful mountains someday...

Of course climate is changing, it has been changing since beginning of time. Question is whether change is human caused. My own opinion is that we have no way to ascertain cause and sub human pieces of excrement will use whatever means they can to control the human population, irrational fear of planetary destruction from climate change is one of those means.

I want to know when my heating bills are going down. I'll wait until next summer to jump on the global warming band wagon. The older I get the more global warming appeals to me, no wonder old people keep moving to Arizona, they can't wait either.

Like I said earlier- volcanic activity has more of a likelihood of very dramatically changing our global temperatures... Toba in Indonesia blew it's lid some 70,000 years ago and nearly killed all pre-historic humans with 20degree drops in temperature in Africa. If something like Yellowstone were to go, we would probably see widescale mass extinctions of most plant and animal life on earth with estimated temperature drops of 20-30 degrees. What they claim humans are doing would only affect the temperature by about 3-4 degrees over 200 years, a drop in the bucket compared to a 5 degree drop in a matter of weeks.

Does anybody have an explanation for the tropical plant life that has been found in the fossil record here in Colorado? Where did the heat to produce tropical plants go? Most scientist believe that north America was covered in polar ice at one time. That's what formed the great lakes. Where did the ice go, caveman camp fires or dinosaur farts? I'm just saying it looks like huge prolonged temperature swings are pretty common.

My point is the temperature is never going to stay the same, it goes up and down. Nobody knows what the "correct" temperature is, nobody knows exactly what has made it change over the history of the earth. Nobody knows what the temperature will be in another 200 years with or without mans influence. I'm not willing to have may taxes increased because somehow the government has convince a majority of the people that we are at fault and government is going to fix it. One thing everybody should know is this entire "climate change" is all about more money for government and less freedom for the people. I refuse to even entertain the idea of "climate change" if more government intervention is going to be the only solution. See you did it you got me ranting about big government.

That is what people said about the Clean Water Act. I personally like clean air and water and am happy that Lake Erie is not still on fire. I believe a hospitable habitat and freedom go hand-in-hand.

Do you miss the "Brown Cloud"? I don't. We changed our habits and are better off because of it. I enjoy this beautiful world and want it to stay beautiful. If that means I have to change my ways than so be it.

Well, guess how all this coal was formed in CO, WY, etc. HUGE coal fields created by massive amounts of vegetation falling into the SWAMP. The climate change/global warming/cooling/term of the week people are taking the tiniest span of geologic time to panic the believers and to get more money to fund their "research."

That's real bright who doesn't like clean air and water, and who doesn't love a "Brown Cloudy" day it's always cooler regardless of the color of the clouds, duh? So was it warmer when we had the brown cloud of the 70's, I don't think so, but it is nice to breath clean air. It's one thing for our government to be able to change laws to help clean up our own country's environment, an another thing completely to think we can now charge American's a carbon tax to clean up the worlds air. Because that's what we would have to do, if it was even possible for us to change the worlds behavior or weather. How much is that Clean Water Act or Brown Cloud tax you are paying right now? The problem is government now wants to create some kind of carbon tax to clean the air, they have already came up with environmental "laws" to control emissions in the air. Don't start charging people taxes because there car is bigger or factory is bigger and could emit more. We already have emission standards if the car or factory meet those standards then leave them alone or change the standards but stop talking about carbon taxes. And Del doesn't Fuego mean fire, maybe you melted St Mary's Glacier. How big was that glacier 200 years ago and how big is it supposed to be in 200 years?

The scientists can’t get their shit straight; 35 years ago the rage was global cooling:
http://www.populartechnology.net/2013/02/the-1970s-global-cooling-alarmism.html
http://denisdutton.com/cooling_world.htm

Now it is global warming. The problem with global warming, if it is what we are really experiencing, is the cooling it causes. The warmer weather causes the ice to melt and disrupts the thermo-cline circulation, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermohaline_circulation . The cold water messes up the global ocean circulation and makes things cold.

Solar radiation is also believed to have an effect on global temperature, well duh. More sun=more heat; less sun is winter time and more sun is summer time.

The little ice age happened right after the Medieval Warm Period ended. The little ice age ended about 100- 150 years ago. We have been warming up ever since the ice age stopped. Isn’t heat what causes ice ages to stop anyway? And even during the little ice age there were multiple cooling and warming trends.

Is it possible we were just in another warming period between the cold spells?

Rulers know fear rules nations and the governed easier than truth, and look at all of the chicken little’s running around right now.

Personally, I'd like to invite all liberals to participate in the Great American CO2 Reduction Initiative and stop exhaling. Some simple math shows that we could reduce American CO2 production by at least 30% immediately (well, within 2-10 minutes) if they'd just stop exhaling. Other benefits would be a huge reduction in the amount of meat eaten, plastic used, trash generated and potable water used nationwide as well as freeing up housing for needy working immigrants so we can stop development of our wildlands. C'mon Progressives, do it for the children!
