Hey guys, I know Magpul makes the minus 5 round limiter for the AR/M4 PMAG, but has anyone see one for the LR/SR PMAG?

I need a quality solution to reducing my 10 round PMAG to 5 for hunting in CO.

Thanks!

I looked at doing the same thing and ultimately settled on the DPMS 4 round magazine from Midway. Here is a link, and they've actually been in stock recently:

I know it's not a Magpul like you asked, just thought I'd throw another option out there...

Thanks i appreciate it.

I have seen those too and just might have to do that. I think MagBlock makes some kind of insert for the PMAG, but the quality and function i am not sure about. Anyone ever used that one before?

In case anyone is interested I got an email back from Magpul (I asked them this question as well). They said they are currently working on a round limited for the LR/SR PMAGS just like they currently have for the AR/M4 PMAGS. Didn't give a timeline but said they are working on one.

I am in the same boat. Would like a lightweight, compact 4 or 5 round magazine for hunting. I did find the link below which appears to show a S&W brand polymer 5 rounder "coming soon."

ASC makes a metal 5 round SR-25 style mag that is a 10 round body limited to 5 rounds. The PMAG LR/SR 10 round weights 3.6 ounces. The ASC 10 round mag weights 5 ounces. The ASC mag is 1/2 to 3/4 inches shorter than the Magpul. I haven't tried any of my 7.62 ASC mags yet but my experience with other ASC mags has been excellent. J&G Sales has them for $19 or you can get them direct from ASC for $26.

SR-25 mags fit the later AR-10 rifles. If the PMAG LR/SR mag fits your rifle the SR-25 style mag should work.

I have some nylon material for mag limiters. Fairly easy, cut to size, do a quick pop rivet on bottom to avoid any DOW gray areas.

Magpull has released the new round limiters for the PMAG LR/SR. I put the minus five one in the ten round magazine last month and it works just fine. No issues yet. They are selling them direct on their website. Not sure if other places have them yet.
