Anybody know where you can buy Dillon presses in CO? I am leaning towards a 650 at this point. MR. Magoo said elk bomb in Milliken has 550's on order. Anybody else know where you can buy them? I can order but I would prefer to buy local if possible, maybe as far south as the springs, but prefer Denver or north due to gas mileage haha.

Yeap, go to Elk Bomb, they'll hook you up. Even if you order, they'll save you the shipping costs, but you'll pay sales tax too of course. The benefit is they are great people to deal with and they are relatively close to you.

NO Sales TAX on Dillon (only) products. They couldn't remain competitive with other dillon vendors, if they did.

How much was the 650?

What ever dillon catalog and website show is what a dillon machine goes for. Everyone who sells them ,does for dillons listed price. One vendor may offer free shipping, OR throw in some perks, but the dillon price for OTD is dillon price ~ a few dollars. The most i have seen price variation wise was $12. Not counting CL, Armslist, GB and Ebay.

Here's a 650, add what you want and see the price.
The format / paste came out crappy, But this gives you an idea what cost is. I only included the 650, case feed, case gauge, strong mount

I'm in the market for a 650 as soon as I get a workbench built and some room in the basement set up - and even dealer discounts on dillon aren't very big.

If you are concerned about ordering from Dillon, I ordered my Dillon 1050 4 days ago and it is scheduled to be delivered today. We don't have anyone down here that carries them, which is why I always order from them.

Good to know thanks. The web site said 5-7 days to ship, then shipping time.

That's due to the demand of reloading items across the board. In 13 it was a 6 week wait. If Dillon said 3-5 business days and the press didn't arrive on time some folks would be upset, to say the least. Having that extra time frame is good business.

EB opens @ noon, drop in and browse. The owners are OOT till monday? but the help can sell you the same press for the same price. Stop by the house today and see which press best fits your needs.

Ah the beauty of the red kool aide though, all my current stuff would fit right in, wouldn't need more dies or expensive conversion kits.

Got home and found ups finally delivered the brass I have been waiting on since December 20th. Maybe I will just keep the single stage, and buy a new Glock, a bottle of patrone, and start sizing, I have 3k to load this weekend.my new GSSF certificate came today so I have to make a trip to Nieves soon also!

I, too, went to Elk Bomb today only to find it closed... Closed tomorrow, too, according to the sign on the door. I'll definitely call ahead before I try again. I may have seen one of you. I was there at about 12:15. Older white Tacoma with a topper. A bearded gentleman rattled the door while I was sitting there.

Nope. They're always closed on Sundays and I remember thinking to myself: 3-day weekend. My days of the week are so screwed up that I first thought today was Thursday and I was really lucky I wasn't there on Friday or Saturday... right up until I pulled on the door!

they are out of town till monday. i shop there a lot, AND NEVER drive w/out calling first. Considering they have numerous kids, who knows what mayy detour them from opening on time, or at all. BUT seeing how TCS goes through a gun per week, it's no wonder he's impatient.

Holy crap! Does anybody have anything in stock? I would take a Lee classic turret if somebody had one. Cabelas, BP, sportsmans, gander, nobody carries them. They all sell them on the web site. No pro 1k (in my caliber) or LCT.

Can't even find a Hornady lnl ap.

Check titanreloading.com, they are a lee distributer and usually have a lot in stock. Their prices and shipping costs were the best I found online when I bought my press from them.

You'd think he'd have one by now. "IF" he ordered the 8-9th it would be on his door step by wed.
Grafs has the 650's in stock with the 45 caliber conversion. Operators are standing by.

Why all the hate on Lee?

Works great for what I need. When I grow up I'll get a Dillon.

Here, I'll make it so tempting, you can't refuse: http://www.titanreloading.com/presses/lee-turret-press/lee-classic-turret-press

Price: $89.79 + $19.96 UPS Ground or $35.96 UPS 3 Day Select or $92.41 Overnight. Currently in-stock too!

Buy it.... you know you wanna... [Evil]

eta: For the record, I have a Lee Classic Cast Breech Lock press and love it. Yes, its a little slow for pistol rounds, I crank out about 100/hr from already cleaned/primed/sized brass, but I tend to have time on my hands so it doesn't bother me. It's great for rifle too. The Breech Lock system is wonderful, set the dies in the Lock Ring Eliminators and changing them out is a 1 handed operation, and less than 5 seconds. Probably just as easy as a turret lol.

I really like my Dillon 550. I still have a Lee Pro 1000 mounted on a board to make it easy to clamp to a bench or table. I've been meaning to take some pics and put it up on the board to see if anyone would like to buy it. I'm thinking $100 for the whole thing and it includes the shell plate/carriers for both .40 S&W and .38/.357. All you would need are the dies.

I don't hate, I have been using a Lee breech lock and all Lee accessories. I don't load the volume some do but I am sure I have +/- 10k pistol rounds on it. Just finished 500 gap rounds. Slow and steady! I had the cheap Lee SS before this one I used for 308/233/9/40. No problems with that one either. I don't expect $600 quality out of a $100 press, but it always done what it needs to.

Exactly my experience too, I can't churn out hundreds of rounds per hour like a progressive, but its solidly built and will serve me a long time! I've heard very mixed things about the Lee Pro 1ks though.

I seen the pro 1k complaints also, then I read hundreds of good reviews from customers at online places like cabelas, BP etc and some forums. Its cheaper then a Dillon or Hornady and I'm sure its not the same quality either, but evidently they work because places like cabela and sportsmans wouldn't keep selling them if everyone brought them back.

I like Lee stuff. For the money their dies are hard to beat unless you are a bench rest shooter.

https://fsreloading.com/

and

http://www.titanreloading.com/

Normally have things in stock at much better prices than anywhere else.

Dillon makes great presses and I will probably use my 550 till it gets passed on to one of my kids along with my Lee Classic Breech lock single stage. Whichever tool gets the job done for you is the right tool for the job.

Also, if you are interested in mounts or press accessories, I will put a plug in for http://inlinefabrication.com/ Dan runs a tight little shop and is always looking for new and innovative ways to improve mounts, lighting for a number of different presses. I have one of his Ultramounts and skylights for my 550 and they make a huge difference. His newer mounting system with the swappable base plates aren't like anything I've seen anywhere else. If you email him, he will get back to you. If you want something special, he will work with you. I highly recommend him.

Glad I saw this thread. I am really wanting to get a Dillon and didn't know you could buy locally. Was going to wait and visit them in PHX in Feb...probably still will since I will be in the area. Looking for the 550b loader. Having looked around I don't see much pricing variation. Would be nice to keep the money local. Anyone know if any place in the Denver area has the 550 in stock?

When I am ready will just order direct from Elk Bomb to support them. Seemed like a great guy and patiently answered all my questions.
