I have to choose between three different .300 Blackout uppers but I want to choose the best upper that I possibly can. Here are my three finalists, and I am just wondering if any of you guys have had experience with Sota Arms, Mas Defense, or Alpha Shooting Sports?

Here are the links to the three great priced uppers.

Thanks for any insight!

I bought a stripped flat top upper from SOTA to replace the carry handle upper on my DPMS. Everything works fine and looks ok. No complaints here.

I doubt you are going to get that for $400.

Maybe Advance Armament?

Im just looking for a beater, 300 blackout upper. Not looking to put $1000 bucks into a 300 blackout upper quite yet! Thanks though!

Sorry, I misunderstood.

In that case, I have no good advice.

Best of luck.

Hey Ray, is the 300 blackout worth getting into?

Hey Ray, is the 300 blackout worth getting into?

Ehh. I'm a bit undecided. I had one. Just couldn't really get into it.

That at being said, I have been thinking about trying one again.

I think if you were going to run it suppressed then it would definitely be the way to go.

If a suppressor isn't in the cards, it may or may not be your cup of tea.

I actually am just getting my tax stamp put together for a 7.62 suppressor.

What would be the difference between running at 300 blackout with or without a suppressor.

If someone more knowledgable than me doesn't chime in, I'd be happy to give you my opinions about the subject.

Unfortunately, I am about to head off to bed shortly.

I'd be happy to type a bit more about it tomorrow.

What is the intended use of the rifle? Sub's or Supers? Depending on the gas system, you may have function issues shooting Sub's without a suppressor. Supers should cycle and lock back regardless of gas system length.

I was planning on running a 8" with a can, if I decide to get into the 300 blackout.

If you reload, it is a good caliber.

If not, not worth it.

Stick with your plans, reload and have fun.

I am working on a 300 Blackout build myself. TBAC can but 10.5 inch barrel. Most 300 bullets fully burn off the powder by 9" [little to no flash] and at 10.5 there will be less beating my can up with the pressures while still having a rather short setup.

spend a few more bucks and you can get something better, and build it your self

Since nobody answered your last question:

The big advantage to having a 300BLK when suppressed is that sub-sonic loads are really easy to work up for it. And it takes a heavy enough bullet that going so slow only hurts the performance, rather than kill it like some other rounds. If you wanted to do a sub 5.56, you won't get the gun to cycle at all, and they drop like crazy pretty quick if you keep it to mag-length for an AR (e.g. not running 90gr bullets). With 300blk you can run the 208s, 215s, or 220s, keep them sub-sonic, have them fit to mag length, and still have a properly setup gun cycle reliably. They still drop pretty good compared to super-sonic, and all 300BLK will drop much worse than 5.56, but to 300-400 yards its pretty good still. Plus so many people have 30cal cans that it make some sense to use that caliber for the gun to them.

Suppressed 300blk sub rounds are REALLY quiet.
