I associate "the right to work" with "the right to have a job". Not the same thing, but it makes me go apeshit when people think they have the "right" to something such as $15/hr for working the counter at McD's, or the "right" to a cell phone, and high speed internet. [Rant1]

I got most of my Obamacare correspondence in English and Spanish. I would open the mail box and there would be two of everything, even though they asked repeatedly if I would prefer correspondence in English of Spanish.

Well right to work is a misnomer anyway, since in right to work states, your employer can fire you for any reason or no reason.

The business no longer needs your services is not a valid reason to terminate employment?
Hre's a question for ya, if you lived in MX would you get a big old American flag decal for your back window? :)

I saw a meme the other day that shows the average hourly wage of police, firefighters, and emts. All of them were $16-$18. Then it shows a guy flipping burgers.. "$15/hr totally fair"

While i agree with the whole Para Espanol, Numero Dos' I see something in "latinos" for lack of a better word i didn't see after 9/11 from us locals, for the most part.

EVERY mexican vehicle that had a decal with the mexican flag, had at least 1 if not 2 American flags flying on their car. The biggest saturation of American flags, flying off houses, flag poles etc, were in mexican neighborhoods.

my wife leave in the morning for work. She's in LA and San Diego on Monday afternoon &Tuesday. On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday working in their Mexican plants (Tijuana and Juarez). She and her boss communicated about 30 times over the last 2 days coordinating their security for the Mexico portion of their trip.

So we put up signs I(in multi-languages) here in the states making sure poeple know they can't be discriminated against for a job bases on citizenship but in their country you pay an armed security force to insure you're not kidnapped at your job because you're American. sounds about the same

That's actually mixing up two different legal concepts. "Right to work" means that state law prohibits closed union shops. Its a separate issue from whether or not termination requires good cause.

At least the employer should have a say on hiring and firing as opposed to being forced to join a union and pay extortion undeserved dues in order to get or keep your job.

You know, you guys have got to stop providing fodder for liberal stereotypes. Legal immigrants and Mexican-Americans (not necessarily the same thing as some of these Mexican-Americans can trace their heritage on North American soil back to the 17th century) are some of the most truly patriotic people I know. WRT the legal immigrants, most of them know what they've left and appreciate what they've got here all the more.

Take the civics test at http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Office%20of%20Citizenship/Citizenship%20Resource%20Center%20Site/Publications/100q.pdf and see how you do. I'd love that test to be required for voting -- must score 60 or more for your vote to count.

Ronin, didn't your Army buddies have some foreign-born spouses? Have you ever talked to immigrants who fled Eastern Europe in the 80s and 90s? For that matter, almost anyone who fled Western Europe as it slow-rolled its way toward their current Socialist structure would give you an earful. There's a gentleman down here in C Springs who immigrated in from Ghana -- he knew Obama personally in college and will talk your ear off about how worthless the guy is and how much it means to be an American citizen and how America has been (until recently) the leading light of the world.

Yes, you do. A former client of mine, his dad was a POW in germany / WWII. They have major land holdings throughout Ft Collins. The neighbor's grandfather, another WWII vet. Those pesky hispanics, VOLUNTEERED, of all things. Same for another doz or so i am friends with.
