It's that time of year again. Time for the Denver International Sportsman's Expo.
If you're interested in hunting, fishing (particularly fly fishing), and other outdoor activities, this is the event for you.
While I have no vested interest in the overall success or failure of the show, I am associated with (volunteer) with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF) who sponsors these events and has various displays. I'll be working at the RMEF "booth" on Saturday from 2PM - 8PM. If you get chance to stop by the Expo during this period, drop by and say hi. Just ask for Ginsue (Thomas) from Pikes Peak. I'm the hefty guy with a shaved head (probably wearing a cap) and a goatee.

damn it Ginsue, you finally make it up to Denver 2 years after i left
Was at the convention center last Saturday. Me and my trusty Sig.
Still thinking about going. Usually not worth the trek into downtown for it though. I don't really fish and I can't afford an 8,000 dollar hunting trip or 50,000 dollar truck.

there has been a bigassed line of vehicles lining up to get into the convention center over the past two days--generally about 3 blocks long.
I'll be there either tomorrow or Friday, gotta work Saturday or I would be there Saturday to see you again

Just vendors setting up. Those lines are caused by the stupid union workers. Vendors weren't allowed to even unroll the carpet or run cable because that would be taking away union workers' job.
So hundreds of vendors would have to take turn waiting for these guys to get to them.
Like I said, I hate the lines

Goody bags? I never got any goody bags? Damn, I've been cheated. The most I get is a tax deduction for my parking fees & gas to/from the event.
Rico... REMF. What can I say, I'm a computer geek. Someone figured I was more valuable behind the action than in it. In my youth, that ticked me off, but as I got older & had a family I didn't mind it so much.
Sorry I'll miss you this year Sniper.
Are they likely to have deals on knives?

Yeah that sucked. I sat in line for an hour and a half trying to get inside to deliver 9 safes.

yep, sign up for RMEF and they give you some type of blade for free. I have multiple knives, an axe, a saw, hats. a few of the knives have done very well cleaning animals.
now if you are talking CRKT and other types, they usually don't have any booths that I can remember selling lots of higher end knives. atvs, truck stuff, tons of fly fishing, lots of hunting all over the world, selling safes, other states trying to get visitors, stay the trail people, bowhunter magazine, a 3d archery area, guest speakers, nuts for sale, food for sale (I would honestly eat out before time as it will be cheaper even at a place like chilis than the prices there), huge fish tank for kids to fish for free at, dog trials...lots more I can't think of!
