I wanted to build an A2 standard configuration upper with a heavy melonite barrel. I have the A2 receiver, but all the melonite barrels I can find are cut for M4 feed ramps. My A2 upper has no M4 feed ramps :( Does an M4 cut barrel perform well in a non-m4 cut base or should I consider other options?

I have found standard cut barrels from Rock River and Olympic, the RRA has chrome lining and is in HBAR, or I kind of like the Olympic Arms fakie dissipator layout but it's a cmv barrel i think. Both are in my price range to finish this upper. Any input appreciated, I obviously need the peer pressure to make a decision here [Flower]

It will work but not the best configuration. Will look like the bottom right picture

Little bit of dremel work will resolve the bbl - receiver issue. The M-4 bbl to A2 receiver is a minimal issue, if you're comfortable doing it. OR:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
There's Plan A- gunsmith
Plan B- consider trading out receivers.

Plan B- consider trading out receivers.

He will probably have a difficult time finding an A2 upper that already has the feed ramp cuts.

Your dremel tool idea is probably his best bet.

It should run just fine.
Build it, shoot it and then and only then fix what is likely a non existent problem.
