View Full Version : Some guy with a fancy convertible steals ammo from walmart
They say Centennial - based on the layout that looks like the store off Arapahoe. What a class act.

Side note, I don't understand why it was taken in October and just now being reported as "news" but there you go...

"A HUGE amount of ammo..." LOL
Those cases are usually locked. Someone's getting or already got fired.
Walmart has ammo?
My first thought.

Case has gone cold. Hoping someone recognizes this dude.

Evergreen shelves were packed the other day. Only 3 boxes per day per customer though. They had 700 rounds of .223 for "only" $475 in an ammo can. One can is considered one box. So you could buy a HUGE amount if you wanted to. [Sarcasm2]
Well maybe now we'll get some service at the sporting goods department!
Parker WM has all their shotgun ammo on the aisle shelves. You could load your cart full if you wanted. But seriously, what kinda dick steals a cart full of ammo?
Looks like a Honda S2000?

They used to have all the ammo unsecured. Just behind the counter.

I have to watch the video again on a PC but I would've guessed it was a newer Miata.

The cabin looks too far back to be either a Miata or S2000. Either that, or the hood looks too long.

Looks like a Saturn Sky to me, though the video is quick and a bit fuzzy. http://www.moibibiki.com/gallery/model-756/saturn-sky-2.jpg.html

I think with 3 or 4 guesses, we don't know squat about chick cars. ;)

I wonder if they had guys grabbing boxes of ammo and taking it up front? They also started selling firearms there too.

I often paid for my ammo at the main checkout when I had other shopping to do.
The locked cases came in when the counter was remodeled for the gun sales.

This story from Channel 4 says the guy just opened the case. Channel 7 said the cases were locked:
On Oct. 14, 2013, the man entered the Walmart store at 10900 E. Briarwood Ave., forced open a locked case containing ammunition...
Either way, he's a scumbag.
I think S2000 too from the length of the front.
Someone can make $2000 reward by turning someone you may know who drives S2000, who stole more than 2000 rounds!

So he just walked out the front door with a cart full of ammo?
Sorry if this is answered in the video, I can't get it to load from this computer.

Yes, he just walked out with it in a cart. It didn't look like much more than a couple of bags and Valerie Castro, lists it as 1000 rounds of .223, 1000 rounds of 7.62, and 100 rounds of 40.
"Val, he sure got away with a lot of it!"

I bet he's long since disposed of all that evidence...
i buy ammo there frequently, or at least I try to. This is the Walmart next to Centennial Airport and they NEVER have anyone working the counter there. I run by there about once a week and not one time in the past year or so have I been able to buy ammo without having to hunt someone down. Never fails, whoever I find then thinks they may know who has the key but they have to call them and I end up standing there for 10 minutes without an employee in sight. I say it serves them right, if you are trying to sell something then staff your business so you can sell it.
This Walmart does not sell guns either and everything used to be unlocked until about a week or two after Sandy Hook, then everything was locked up and you had to pay for it right there even if you were doing more shopping.
From what one of the employees was saying, the manager is an anti gun person and intentionally keeps employees away from there to piss people off.

That employee was full of shit. Prior to a few months ago my dear friend was the manager of that store. She is not anti-gun. She has since moved on... That store was hers prior to sandy and up till a few months ago.

I've never seen anyone working in that section either whenever I go there.

Yep. I wanted a Miata so bad after my Integra. A test drive was as far as I ever got because I had no money.

i don't know anything about the past manager or present manager's politics, but i can confirm 9 times out of 10 there wasn't a soul near the sporting goods counter. sometimes in the mornings there was a guy around, but it was sporadic. I generally just call the store line from my cell and ask for them to send someone back.
