The article doesn't seem to have a lot of info in it other than the mayor supports open carry. Anybody know where the rest of the town council stands?

So.. Castle Rock story... Lots of footage of Aurora Firing Line? Gun shops they all look alike :)

This will be interesting to watch.

I hope that the residents will show up at the meeting to make a pro carry statement.

I'm about to head to the meeting along with a few others I know. The last meeting was PACKED by pro-OC people. This one will have a few more supporters for the ban so it should be interesting. From the KDVR article:

"While Mayor Paul Donahue, who is managing partner of the Centennial Gun Club, has said he supports repealing the ban on open-carry; but many county planning commissioners are threatening to resign “because of the increased possibility for intimidation and/or violence”, they stated in a letter from the Castle Rock Planning Commission last week."

Typical.

Nice a chance to fight back on gun laws and the cherry on top is people who oppose guns will resign from their leadership positions in local government. What is the problem?

"If you do XYZ, I'm gonna quit! I'm gonna leave!"

"Okay, can I have your stapler?"

Still here. Lots of buzz words. Safety, ar15, ak, intimidated, no reason for it, etc. This is insane.

How many "public servants" are going to leave? How many stated their intent to do so? Hopefully they will keep their word.

I just read that it isn't repealed yet, just moved on to a second reading?

Correct. I got a little over zealous with my post. We'll see how the final reading goes but the aura in the room was that this was it and it was time to move on, no matter what the outcome of last night's meeting. Everyone was tired of debating it.

Well there is already a petition started to put the ban back in place and put it to the people to vote on it.
