Trying to decide between these two as of now. If anyone knows of any better deals, let me know!

Definitely go with the WASR. They have gotten better over the years and they are a factory built ak. Maybe not as good as the the Sar-1 series but still good ak's. I wouldn't touch a century built rifle. Just saying.

They are both assembled by Century. This is from the description of the WASR (second link)- "This firearm was assembled by Century Arms using both new US made parts and original used surplus parts. Has a chrome lined barrel. Receiver is usually marked GP / WASR 10/63." This is from the description of the GP1975 (first link)- "This firearm was assembled by Century Arms International using both new US made parts and original used surplus parts."

I had a WASR, and it was a good gun...Arsenal/Krebs? NO, But for my $, wouldn't hesitate IF you can inspect it....Century has a rep of low quality, thrown together weapon systems, but dare I say, Of the 4 Century's I have/had, they have been decent shooters. Still have my G1 FAL of century origins, and yes I had to tweak small items, but its runs great! For the $ their AK builds are good deal, as long as the can be looked over first or bought from a trusted source. (Gas block straight, front sight straight, no binding in carrier etc)

The only thing Century do is opening up the mag well and put on "assaulting" pistol grip/stocks.

jackthewall81 (https://www.ar-15.co/members/6440-jackthewall81): Go to a shop and hand pick a WASR if you can, check for canted sights, canted gas blocks, and canted front trunions. It's worth the trouble.

Have you look at O-Pap's at all? Much better factory gun than both, while not that much more expensive.

Did you check this one out ? Right in the middle of the prices on your two links. And at the same site.

Like it was sais,Century and WASR are the same, just a matter of handpicking them.
OPAP'S and NPAP'S are also a good one. From my understanding the OPAP'S will no longer be imported.

I would skip the wsar/century guns and go with a yugo or save up a little more and get an arsenal SGL or SLR series gun. I personaly would save a little more and get a arsenal Bulgy SLR-107, you will be much happier in the long run and have the best AK IMHO.

I had a century underfolder once.. Bought it for $175.. It simple wont cycle due to excessive mag wobble. Sold it to Jim as part gun for a tad more :D

Likewise. Nothing a quick fix on the mag release, didn't cure. BTW: The current owner has 2K through it.

U watch how the current owner ends up selling it to me for much higher!

FWIW I have seen 2 O-PAP'S that the bolt carrier showed signs of battering after a few hundred rounds. They may have a hardness issue.

Do you think the gas port could be drilled too large to cause the bolt to do that?

UPDATE Just checked my o pap and no signs of any battering. there could of been bad batch.

I will have to check my o pap, I have fired around 600rds since the conversion.

What about http://www.classicfirearms.com/long-guns/yugom70ab2tunderfoldwmags

This is a pretty solid deal! I'd go with this over the two century ones.
