View Full Version : Girl changes her mind about guns.
So this girl was born and raised in New York, then spent 6 months in Alabama and now has no problem with guns.

Yup.. And we all need to do is not castigate people but instead bring them into the fold. People can change... Not all of them , but most.
When I first read the title, I assumed she went to South America of Africa or something. When she said she hung out in Alabama for six months, I laughed.

Haha, I liked the video. Seen it before, this is part of why I invite people to go shooting with me all the time and I preach gun safety at them! If you understand how something works, chances are you will not be afraid of it and will not be prejudice against it.

Good for her.
Some people are capable of opening their minds.
Oh, she gets extra points for being easy on the eyes.

We must send all antis to Alabama for 6 months.

This is spot on. Most of the antis I've been around simply think a gun itself is dangerous, just waiting to go off whether loaded or unloaded. Even my wife was like that. Sit down and show them how to be safe with it and all the sudden they aren't so scary anymore.

It's all about being surrounded by people who practice groupthink. Remove yourself from that situation, and you'll be surprised what you are suddenly open to.

+1
And this is part of why they wrote the "background check" bill the way they did with the text "transfer possession." Letting someone else fire your gun at the range is a transfer and is prohibited.
The less exposure people have to a right, the more willing they are to part with it.

Well, she went from one groupthink to another. But now she has both sides.

My lady was the same way until I took her shooting. She's still pretty nervous its going to go off if there is one in the chamber though.
