Meh. Not really, FN has had the DOD contract for the M16 and M4 for at least a few years now. Figured it was just a matter of time.

Yep. I last qualified on the "M16" in 2001 on a FN marked as an "AR-15" with semi & 3 rnd burst capability.
What does it have other than the "me too" factor?

Yeah, my M16A2 at my old reserve unit was made by FN. As I said, I figured it was just a matter of time before they jumped on the bandwagon...

FN should have had the "contract" back in 57. Just saying. [Coffee]
I would imagine they're on the pricey side...like every other rifle they make.

As well as PSAs barrels.
oh wow. an ar15. revolutionary indeed.

The letters "FN" on the side.

And?
Yawn, doesn't bring anything new to the table. In terms of functionality, this is not much different from an AR you could have bought in 2005.

I dont think these are going to sell very well. Nothing special I would rather get a Colt and have my money go to an american company.

You should go over to the FN forum. There are many that have erections over just that.
Nice vintage 80's AR. ....yawn
As well as PSAs barrels.
Rumor is more than just barrels, but never confirmed. They are both in SC which makes things convenient.
I'm happy to see this--been a long time coming! I wonder if it will change the way they work with PSA?
Would also be cool if they did an A2 with the old grayish finish too. My M16A2s were all FN but I have settled for a Colt A2.
It might be interesting if it were a piston AR from a big manufacturer. Another AR pattern DI rifle isn't interesting, since I can basically buy the same thing from PSA for half the price.

Don't use PSA as a benchmark for all DI AR's, they're decidedly not all created equal... I'm at a loss as to what I'd use PSA as a benchmark for anything.

FN makes PSA's barrels and chambers, what else matters in an AR besides the trigger?

They're a good benchmark for judging the price of a meh-decent weekend plinker.

Luckilly, my PSA doesn't have either issue, but yea, Christmas 2012 quality control was awful.

It's from last Black Friday sale.. Either way, PSA by far is not dpms or RRA which are the benchmark of cheaper ar IMHO.

Haha, right you are!
Also never had issues with my PSA upper. It's been great to me so far!
