Mt. Herman Road conditions

Thanks to the forum for providing a place to ask such questions.
I'm headed to the Springs area tomorrow morning and would like to go shooting. I've been up Mt. Herman Rd. outside of Monument before and would like to go again tomorrow. Anyone been up there? Road conditions? Good spots for pistol, shotgun, rifle?

Is there actually a range in the mount herman meeting area or were you referring to impromptu shooting?
