I used the search function on the board but didn't find an answer...

Anyways, I read through the .gov site on what is needed to renew your CCW in Arapahoe County, but I didn't understand what was required besides the fee and the forum filled out, it asks for a notarized copy stating you are still "proficient". What would that be?

Or maybe I should just ask; "What did you bring with you as proof when you renewed your CCW permit"?

TIA

IIRC, the notarized application and the certificate from training (which has to be in the last 10 years)

Every 10 years you need to retake a class. Otherwise it's just a fee

All you need is the check, application and proof of certification if you are past 10 years since your last certification. If something needs notarized they will do it. Go first thing on a renewal day and you will probably be out of there in 10-15 minutes with your new permit.

You can also call them to verify you have what you need. They are usually very pleasant and helpful. 720-874-3895

It looks like they are changing residency and payment requirements to make it a little easier too. http://www.co.arapahoe.co.us/index.aspx?NID=897

They've got a pretty good group at acso.

Same day renewal and they didn't even charge for notary. Tried to make it a fun time too.

Also they're allowing some proof of training beyond the 10 years. Told me mine was good forever

Just an update to Arapahoe County renewal.
Go early, right at 0900 hrs, Tues - Thurs. minimal wait, 5 - 20 minutes and processing approximately 15 -20 minutes. Out the door with a new permit in under 45 minutes.
Also, if you renew early ( at or just under the 90 day prior to expiration ) you lose that much time on your renewal. Example : If your permit expires in Nov. 2014, and you renew in Aug. 2014, your new permit will expire in Aug. 2019 instead of Nov. 2019.

And ACSO also told me the same thing about the training certificate as what Monky posted.
