Does anyone know the law in CO for carrying a collapsible baton for self protection? All I could find is that CO considers it a non-lethal weapon. Well, I have a CCW for a lethal weapon, so it seems reasonable that batons should be allowed. Any LEO's in the house? [PoPo]

(edit) I carry a truckers tire thumper in in the P/U. Is it legal for me to stick it in my belt and carry it around?

I have an ASP collapsible baton that I carry. While I was trained in how to use one while playing cop for the Air Force, the law does not require training to posess - but...

The first thing to remember if you ever have to use it for protection is to NEVER strike anyone in the head with one of these. Additionally, there can be legal issues if you carry it in an "offensive or aggressive manner". The same holds true if you were carrying a tire iron or baseball bat.

While it's better if you take a class for one of these things, you can still gain useful information if you study how to use a baton for non-strike moves as well as the strike moves. These can really be versatile non-lethal self-defense tools.
