"Connersville Mayor Leonard Urban thought that Counceller was joking (http://www.pal-item.com/article/20140120/NEWS01/301200011/Connersville-police-chief-accidentally-shoots-self-at-gun-shop?nclick_check=1) when he called to report the accident, according to Pal-Item.com.
"It was just a little accident. Dave is an excellent marksman," Urban said Monday. "Apparently the Glocks don't have the trigger safety that they should have."
or your chief doesnt have the brainpower he needs to have to carry a firearm.

Ban Police Chiefs?
I hate the word accident when referring to a handgun. Handguns don't do things, and you have to act to make it do things. If it goes off when you don't want it to, that is a negligence, not an accident.

So did an idiot go and bubba up his Glock by removing the trigger safety? Or is this guy just a fat fingered dumbass?

How many gun stores have you been in that allow you to pull your ccw out to compare to another gun? None that I have been in.

I think they may mean he's used to a thumb safety, and doesn't like the DA/SA system. I could be wrong.

I read the article 3 times and still try and envision just how you get enough clothing wrapped around the trigger and then secure enough to pull the trigger as the gun is holstered.[panic][fail]
I am sorry but I call total BS on this. Just like a guy and girl that get caught parked with his pants down. Um, she was just looking for my keys that got lost. [LOL]

ding ding ding, we have a winner, your prize package includes a all expense paid trip to the emergency room, courtesy of your departments insurance carrier, while there you will enjoy pain killers in the examination room and a vigorous wound cleaning from a ham handed intern, afterword your own private press conference where you can explain how your gun "just went off". it is missing a safety cause it is a glock
